Here it is, finally! 😍 First of all I want to say that I mispronounced gesso the first time I said it, the actual pronounciation doesn’t make any sense to me 😂 I also forgot to mention why I use gesso, I prime all of the postcards with it so the gouache sticks to the surface better. These cards are not meant for painting so it’s hard to use without the primer. I really hope you enjoy watching this video and get inspired by it too! 🥰

Your challenge inspired me to make my own challenge - to fill my sketchbook with cinema scenes. I was a little scared and also didn't know what to paint in my sketchbook (I am not an artist, I just paint something from time to time). As you said, the beauty of painting is that you can escape from the reality for a few hours and try to make something that you enjoy. Your work is awesome. And thank you. 💚💛🤎

Omg your art is just beautiful! Frankly, I don't think even beautiful does it justice but it'll certainly do. Seeing your progress and improvement throughout this challenge really inspired me to maybe start painting without fear of mistakes, because it's simply just part of the process. Now, you asked for favourites which was very hard for me to narrow down, so these are some I would buy for my room, but i have many more faves! Pantone 5405 (3:25) Pantone 485 (10:33) Pantone 414 (11:56) Pantone 152 (14:52) Pantone cool grey 7 (15:50) Pantone 13-0645 (19:07) Thankyou if you read this 🐛🦠🐸

yea this really helps with broadening your color choices, they always tell you to do "small painting exercise with whatever subject you want" and this is just perfect, your paintings really inspire me I might buy the set too and try 🤣 I really liked the koi fish! the original shiny background was really fitting, also bottle green and bright violet! those two really caught my eyes by the end, of course you can see the huge improvement just so soo inspiring so soo pretty 💞💞💞💚

8:40 regarding not creating things that you're proud of--Scott Christian Sava said in a video, that part of growing as an artist is improving your good pieces ratio. Everybody starts out making stuff that they don't like, and only hitting on stuff they like every few pieces. As you grow as an artist and your skills become easier to implement, and your knowledge of composition and color and design becomes second nature, it's much easier to create pieces you're proud of.

It was really lovely to see how your skills have developed over this time. And yes to talking about Unsplash! I feel like a broken record sometimes and always mention it as well whenever I can but it's just so important to use images with consent or when you know that they're royalty free anyway. I always love your landscape paintings - for some reason I always associate your art with these gorgeous nature scenes so I would have to say that those are my faves from this bunch as well.

I like to paint on coloured cardstock as well. I also love painting original imagination based pieces rather than just coping direct from a reference as well as doing studies directly from reference photos. Even if you have aphantasia you can also create unique references to copy from by photo bashing digitally. You can also use digital filters/painting to create a custom reference. This can be also ‘Frankensteining’ two photos such as to get the face from mine photo onto another. Or mixing three different fish photos into an ultimate ‘Frankenstein-fish’ reference! You do NOT need to ‘obey’ the reference either; move elements, omit things, resize, change colour etc. you can also use the lighting from one reference and paint the subject for another. It need not be limited by exact direct copy from unaltered photos! You can also do monochromatic and greyscale to focus on tonal learning. Etc. Micheals is a great place to pick up many varieties of coloured cardstock that can be cut into smaller sizes. ACEOs is also a great option! Wait for a good sale and stock up they don’t ‘go bad so invest when the sale is hot! Fun video thanks.

I'm speechless. This is SO incredible and such a huge achievement! I can with all the confidence say that you're one of my favourite artists ever, you're such an inspiring, kind-hearted person ♥To be honest when you were posting all of these paintings on IG I didn't quite realize you're doing it every single day (well, social media trained us to just look at the content and not to think much about it because there is an infinite number of amazing art pieces to see and if you want to catch up with at least a smart chunk of them you gotta be fast) and this is so so impressive! I'm so happy you made this video, it allowed me to finally mindfully catch up with your paintings ♥For October I decided to join Peachtober challenge and even though I went full digital and black and white I still struggle big time which in my mind makes your daily painting challenge even more jawsome. You definitely can see the improvent between your first 30 and the rest that you did afterwards! It seems like such a rewarding project and I'm glad that you're sharing all of them with us, even ones you weren't satisfied with. It definitely takes lots of courage to do that. And I also appreciate that you're against using pinterest 🌿🍀🍈 My favorites are the ones in these timestamps! 2:05 | 3:33 | 10:03 | 10:44 | 11:18 | 14:08 | 18:08 19:08 (the color that you hate a lot but I really like how you can still capitalize it with the chosen theme!) And I think the still-life fruits that you did are very very great and cool (like the cherries, strawberries, and the 2nd oranges too). I didn't include it in my personal list because fruit still-life aren't my favorite art subject but I really think what you did with them is super duper cool!! Keep up the wonderful work 💚

You look back at old art and think about how you would change it, because that art gave you progress towards the skills you have now. And remember that what you see in your head, others don't see that; just what you've created. It's so easy to harshly judge yourself for what you've created because it doesn't match your mental image, or because your skills have improved. I look at each painting I do as both a zen way to chill, and a lesson. Practice makes progress.

I'm so glad youtube tossed this one my way because I bought those postcards a while back as well and had only painted two(once with poscas which I wouldn't recommend, they're a little too thick and once with gouache). But seeing this inspired me to finally continue painting them c: I'm curious because you said you prepped these with gesso and I was wondering if you also sealed them in any way when you were finished? I haven't felt the need to use a primer so far, but I was wondering if you had any experience or tips regarding, sealing or not sealing them when you're finished and if you've noticed any wear over time with the finished pieces.
