Jared, your account of travels, anecdotes, and observations is delightful! What a dream come true to do what you've done here, plus you are brilliant to showcase your work this way. I found myself wanting to buy a bunch! Bravo!

Thanks, that means a lot! I wish I could take credit for the video preview idea but it was my friend, Patrick Okrasinski, who gave me the suggestion. Make sure to check out his work if you haven't already!

Fantastic tour, Jared. Your work is incredible and inspiring. Appreciate all the commentary and sharing of your thoughts on the approach for each. I was bummed to find out a day late that you had your studio sale. Would definitely love to have the opportunity to add one of your pieces to my collection. Keep up the inspiring work. It’s great to see you, Kyle, Patrick, Rolf and all the next generation of incredible talent out doing your thing. Cheers from the Netherlands.

Thank you! Unfortunately I didn't have the ability to film the full process video for these travel paintings. I do have some short process videos on my instagram. I'll be posting more painting content soon.

I love this! It’s so fun to hear anecdotes from the trip and see the video clips of you and the other artists meandering around town and your point of view painting. Great video, really great paintings! How hot did it get? Any breeze in Italy? I don’t how you guys do it!

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I think it got up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit in Rome for a bit. I think I'm also a little wimpy with the heat sometimes 😂I'm used to the mild summers in Colorado.

Lovely paintings! Your mastery of colours is inspiring. I wonder how much time you spend mixing your colours as opposed to putting them on canvas? Also, how long do these pieces take to do on average including finishing them in your studio?
@JaredBrady
14 күн бұрын
Thank you! I probably spend more time mixing and thinking about what marks to make vs brush on canvas time. I try to be really intentional with painting but I catch myself not thinking through decisions enough all the time!

Amazing work! How are you able to move around with these and transport them with fresh paint?

Thank you! I had a panel carrier to hold paintings while they were still wet when traveling. Most dried pretty quickly because I used a quick-dry titanium white that ended up getting mixed into most of the paint mixtures. I would stack the ones in my luggage that were dry.

Thank you! I painted all of these in oils. I would use a panel carrier to protect them while wet, then once they were dry I stacked them in my luggage.

This is incredibly inspiring!! Do you paint on boards/pads or primed papers? also how do you carry around multiple oil paintings and not ruining them while walking? Do you have some special storage for them, where the pages dont touch eachother?
@JaredBrady

Thank you so much!! For this trip I painted on linen sheets that I pre-toned that were cut to standard sizes. I would clip them to a board and then use a wet panel carrier to transport while I waited for them to dry. I also used a quick-dry titanium white made by Gamblin to help dry the paintings quicker since white gets mixed into a lot of the color I use. Once things were dry, I would stack them in my luggage as I traveled.
