Thank you for sharing your story, its so common to prep for birth but not postpartum - this is the reason I became a postpartum doula so I can support women and families as they embark on this new season of life. Mothers need to be mothered, I wish this was the standard.

I got here because of the guided mdma/psilocybin therapy video and stayed to watch your introspection and growth. Binged it all this morning. You’re doing great and it’s really inspiring.

Very helpful!! Postpartum hormones and the sleep deprivation can really take a toll on mental health. I really like the advice of not keeping anything rigid & doing a simple journaling in the morning. Miles got me with the espresso machine 🤣 and also can’t wait to see miles with a smash cake on his 1st bday

I had three children and I only had post partem depression with the first one, for about two hours. It was deep, black and horrid and then it was over just as quickly and never happened with the next two children. I was so fortunate. I also never had morning sickness, or anything that normally goes with pregnancy. After the first few weeks of feeling exhaustion when I became pregnant, I was a powerhouse and so energetic. My firs labor was about 24 hours. My next two babies delivered so rapidly it was incredible, which is a family trait. I one labor pain for the second one, went directly to the hospital because it was his due date and about 20 minutes after arrival, I had to push and there he was. Same with the third. They were 9, 8 and 11 lbs. Since they were so large, they ate very well and slept through the night from the get go. When friends ask me how I handled kids being picking eaters, bad sleepers, etc., I can offer nothing. I never experienced that. They never met a food they didn't like and actually loved going to bed when it was time. I can't explain it. That's just the way it was. I loved it. I wanted more children, but divorced the dad when the last one was five years old as he was a severe alcoholic and was getting violent. I loved, loved, loved motherhood. Was it always easy as a single mom? No, definitely not, but I wouldn't change anything.

I can tell you guys are great parents. Yes, being away from your child is very weird. I think I already told you but I’ll tell you my job. I’m a PE teacher in Oklahoma and I miss my favorite kids too. This year I had a kindergartener come up to me and say I love you Mr. Lake. So many great stories. I got tons. Having a kid is special and rewarding and exhausting. Lol I don’t have any just yet but I know I will become a great dad.

A great video all new mom's should see!! My children are grown and I am now a grandmother but there is one piece of advice I always give - always make sure to take time for yourself and your marriage. It's hard to believe now but before you know it your kids will be grown and out of the house. You're doing a great job Kristy! Enjoy every moment and go easy on yourself.

Microdosing psilocybin apparently helps a lot with postpartum depression. An alternative to pharma meds.

Becoming a mother upends your life so much! You live towards the birth but don’t give much thought about what it’s like after that and really, then it all starts. I remember thinking: ‚ ah, I should have thought about this earlier 😂‘. Be kind and gentle toward yourself. This is a major, major change. The second baby is a lot easier. You know what to expect, are already in a routine etc. Miles is so sweet btw.

Thank you for sharing a part of your struggles with us. I wish I had stumbled on your page when my daughter was going through POSTPARTUM. I want to share a piece of my story but it doesn’t involve Postpartum….its Art. In 2004 I started Scrapbooking and eventually taught myself how to make cards. In the beginning someone asked me what’s my style…I thought about it then started viewing all these beautiful pages on a scrapbook website I was a part of. As I started viewing some regulars I noticed these people in fact did have a particular style and that’s when I started becoming extremely hard on myself for NOT having a particular style and the comparison of my art verses theirs started. As time went by I would again study these styles while asking myself why can’t I have a style then I realized that while these people had absolutely gorgeous scrapbook pages and a style I realized I was happy that I wasn’t able to develop a particular style and the reason I’m so grateful for not having a particular style is because when I’m doing my art I’m anxious to see what my brain thinks of and when I complete a project I’m always happy with the end results. In my opinion comparing my work to others is just as harmful to my mental health as Postpartum is to a new Mom….Miles is such a happy and cute little guy. Can’t wait to meet your daughter
