Look, I'll always straddle if the table is doing it, but I have no problem with someone that doesn't want to do it. Some people may be shot taking in the game, or just don't want to do it. These are public casino games. No players owes anything to the other players at the table, and a player absolutely should be able to play the stakes that are listed without being ostracized or pressured. I actually have more respect for the player that stands their ground than the player that does something they don't want to just to go with the flow. JMO though.

Same thing happened to me at the 5/10 at the HR soon as I sat down they said they’re doing an auto straddle. I only sat down cause I was waiting for the 5/5/10 plo. I said good for you but never straddle. A couple of them get upset and started mouthing off so I said I’m not going o straddle I’m waiting for another game I’m third on the list and when my names called I’m out of here so there just going to have to deal with it. They muttered under their breath but nothing g happened and I refused to straddle until I moved to the PLo game as I’m leaving one guy started yapping g again when I challenged him to okay HU plo for 5/10 or 10/10 and he finally shut up. End of story. The game is 5/10 not 5/10/25. It’s a casino not a private game so 🖕🏻

I think raise or fold makes sense. He can't lose the nit game this hand, so it shouldn't really force his action. Calling $1600 and not closing the action seems like a strange choice. In his own analysis, he said the player to his left would at least call. So, at best, he calls out of position and sees a flop with a hand that should be raising preflop? At worst, the limper squeezes and he is forced to fold preflop. I don't get it

It’s ok on occasion for recreational player. No one should say anything. It’s not ok for a semi- pro or pro grinder, other pros should call out the poor etiquette. Non straddling NITs run off the whales. I’d rather get the comps from the casino and lose 5-10k at the roulette or craps table than to give my $$ to a boring, grinding, angling, NIT. About 6 months ago, a guy like this jammed 2k preflop with AA and I snapped him off with 7/3 suited because I was up 8k and wanted to smash him. He reloaded for 5k. I tipped the dealer $50 and the brush $50 and asked them to take my chips to the cage before the guy could even get his chips reloaded….I looked right at him and said….”You’ll never get these chips back, the Peppermill will… but I’ll never sit in a game with you again”! How bad is that for the other players? They lost opportunity because of that douche! 😂😂 Your assessment was spot on and I agree with you, most big players don’t mind and enjoy the company of other recreational players, regardless of the straddle or gamble threshold. But we HATE PRO Grinders, who tip like shit & ruin the fun.

This is possibly a case of being in a game that is getting too big for you to comfortably play. The A♣️5♣️ shove was a gamblers mentality, not a smart poker move. Just my opinion, but if you are constantly either walking away a winner, or broke, you are crossing the line between playing cards and gambling. At the 1/3 and 2/5 levels the gamblers were the guys you ate for breakfast. Don’t be on the menu due to pride. As always, great content and thanks for sharing!

Had to pause the video. All in blind hand... not something that I'd personally do... but definitely a good show. Edit* Added comments* Hi Lex, I am back... I had to pause the video and come back to finish it later... so, after seeing the entire thing, I have some additional comments. I've met you a few times (I'm a local rec player) and even enjoyed a conversation. I certainly follow your vlog and would dare say that I've learned a thing or two by osmosis. I am incredibly impressed on your apparent discipline and ability (skill... luck, or combination of the two) to move up in stakes. That withstanding, you're a player that does this (poker) for a living... my world is completely different, in that I am a Recreational player... semi-professional wannabe. I disclose those fact to point out... brother you found a good game and was up $20K!... in a matter of hours. As a business (of poker), that's a good day f'ing anywhere. Your instinct to book the win and leave, was not a bad thing in my opinion. I am not critical, because I've been there and also left it all on the table. As a friend that wishes you continued success, I would say... sometimes a short session and a win is not a bad thing. All the best!
