Great video. I long wanted realistic historical non-fantasy AAA RPG, so when KCD was announced, it became my dream game - and as a bonus it was made by legendary czech developers, set in our country and made on Cryegine 3. Then of course it was necessary to wait for 4 years before it released, and another year for all patches, DLCs and hardcore mode...and finally in 2019 I played it and it was exactly what I hoped for. In my TOP3 favourite games ever, alongside (not better or worse) Red Dead Redemption 2 and Witcher 3. That sait it did have few flaws and your KCD2 wishlist is on point - combat lock-on camera is terribly clunky when fighting multiple people and facial animations were the one weakness of the game from graphical perspective. Its world still looks stunning today though. I expect KCD2 to be my GOTY this year, no contest.

Exactly what I was thinking! I’m pretty sure KCD limits what you can use in combat(and I imagine they want to retain the reality of not being able to quickly use things in a real sword fight), but just having a quick action at all for some scenarios would be a nice to have for sure!
@stanisawzokiewski3308

Agree with you wish list. Here is my ideas. -magnetism should be adjustable in the options. -lock on button should lock/unlock enemies, instead of lock/switch to next enemy. -switching weapons needs to be faster. Captain Bernard even says "shoot an arrow into the first bandit, drop your bow, deal with the next one with your melee weapon". I think if you double press you melee button twice you should drop you bow instantly and draw your weapon. It would really fit this game that you then have to find it and pick it up. -perks for faster weapon draw, blocking an opponents strike by drawing your weapon if you perform a perfect block without weapon equiped. -combat rebalance. Master strikes are to OP. Combos are not worth it. Maybe you only get a masterstrike if you block every hit in your opponents combo? Something like that. Or if you press the button at the perfect momment WHILE also putting your weapon in the correct direction. Something to make it harder to perform. While making combos more worth it. -marksmanship perks for bows, crossbows and handguns. Like faster draw or reload, steadier hand, abbility to hold your breath, get to full draw faster. There is many things that could be in a marksmanship perk tree. -hand to hand combat combos would be cool. Adding directional strikes from weapon combat to hand combat wouldnt even need a separate system. Just use the same one but different animations.

I LOVE that idea of a double tap to drop the bow. It feels so slow to put away a bow to switch to your main weapon. It retains the realistic feel especially when you add what you mentioned: finding the bow afterwards. You have a lot of good ideas here, thanks for sharing!!

1. The combat will be made more accessible to new players while also retaining a high skill gap. The devs have confirmed the change from the five star directional combat system to a simplified four star version… 2. It's really not as big of a deal as it sounds. Sharpening takes a few minutes, or you can use a blacksmith kit as long as you don't let the sword get too dull. Bathing can be done in a trough, which takes about five seconds. Troughs are everywhere, so keeping yourself clean enough is really just making sure to click on one of them on occasion. The main issue is hunger, and after a few perks it doesn't feel like a big deal anymore. Just check it on occasion and keep some dried food on you and that's not a big deal either. The game feels like a lot to keep track of in the beginning, but after a handful of hours it doesn't seem bad at all.

As you might already have seen there is a massive improvement for the second game since they have little cameras capturing the actors when doing the mo cap scenes. For me personally quick action wouldnt be that viable because a lot of actions are impossible in combat but im not against it.
