Recently I started watching some videos on modern Subnaitica, which wowed A LOT with how much progress, but seeing how it started, how it used to be... It brings me faith and believe in developers! Not the big AAA studios, but the small ones, that continue working on their projects long after their first public release. It show true passion and dedication, not just a money-grab project (like many AAA are...) I get the same feels with No Man's Sky, an early disaster, but a very mature and respectable game now!!! Always great to revisit old versions of game. Like the forest, in the old versions I appreciate the guaranteed one-shot kill if you hit a certain part. (Mostly with a ranged weapon)

if you could get your hands on the subnautica build with the old lava zone entrance under the aurora, thousands would watch it XD

What’s kinda cool is the version i played (maybe not as old as yours but close) had the command prompt you could abuse for unlimited supplies in story mode . And the save data didn’t corrupt with new updates . So now i have a huge base in the coolest location and it was 100% free lol
@TheLastBacon

I think you can still use the "nocost" command :)

Glad to see Subnautica’s visual style has stayed mostly the same, I consider that one of the things that separates this from similar games (Ex: Stranded Deep)

(sorry for making a second comment but it wouldn't let me edit my original one) I don't know if there is music or not, but if there isn't then that would definitely make it feel very liminal. From what I saw, there wasn't really any life but the shallows (and the grassy plateau's) I just can't imagine play the 2014 version of the game at night💀

You should go back to the earlliest 2016 build next. I think that was when the game truly begun taking off. I remember playing right after the Auroa Explosion Cutscene was added.

Theory video idea: What if Ryley contacted sunbeam and warned them after hearing that 4546b is under quarantine from the translation after trying to disable the gun. How would sunbeam react? Would they not believe him? How would Alterra react? Would Ryley receive some kind of instructions? Would Ryley be left for dead to insure kharaa doesnt end up on earth? Would they ask Ryley for information about the degasi crew?

I like the idea :) I think they would believe him - but I don't know if it would speed up his rescue...

@@TheLastBacon it was a respone to a question Q: So i had trouble dying because of food and water (mainly because i went too far out) and would re-spawn at the beginning ship even after I got the Cyclops. Is there currently or in the future a way to respawn at the cyclops? I know i can re-spawn at bases but if my ships is a god awful distance away and there are leviathans...how do I get it back>? A: maybe a end game tech using warpers or warper dna to move between bases and your cyclops? or even just bases to bases that are far apart?

When it first hit steam I got it and it was very early access, use to you could put the small storage boxes inside on the floor of the escape pod really miss that. We also could terraform the ground with a terraform tool but that was removed to. lots of changes some I didn't like, others were great improvements.
