why is the only thing I can do while watching your videos (a trigger for me) to hold back my slapping tic is my butt clenching tic. It’s like a tic trade deal. side note: I don’t have Tourette’s but I do experience both motor and vocal tics and have had tics since I was four but, I am not diagnosed with a tic disorder. I felt the need to say this just in case my tic’s don’t behave like tic’s caused by Tourette’s Would. my family thinks it might be caused by anxiety but I’m also not diagnosed with that either So who knows 🤷

Did you ever have an examination with your doctor concerning your symptoms? Having tics is not a natural condition and would in most cases indicate Tourette's syndrome.
@lydthekid9021
2 жыл бұрын
I would talk to my doctor about it however I’m 15 years old and despite me going to my mom with concerns about my tics she’s not concerned at all and tends to just find them annoying. I’ve had tics since I was about four which is one of most people who have them develop them but we all thought it was just an extension of my ADHD because tics in ADHD are very common. My mom who is a teacher and has worked with kids who have tic disorders and she says that mine aren’t often enough despite me getting them all the time. so yeah…

@@lydthekid9021 That's rather unfortunate, that your guardian shows bias. It's possible that she feels ashamed about it and would rather deny the truth. Bear in mind that tics are involuntary reactions that can happen at any time, as opposed to experiencing an impulse to flail because of boredom. You would know if you have them, so be careful to not invalidate your own experience, even if other people try to claim that you are wrong... Perhaps sometime in the future, you will have the opportunity to be properly examined by a doctor and get a valid diagnosis for your experience with having tics.
@lydthekid9021

yeah I will likely just have to wait for a point where my mother isn’t sitting next to me in the doctors office. I do believe that my mother does show a bias towards that sort of thing in relation to me as well as with my mental health following this pattern she has disregarded my past self-destructive behaviors. she claims to be open to the idea of me perhaps having conditions other than what I’ve been diagnosed with but whenever I bring it up she disregards it. my plan is to wait until I would be able to bring it up with the doctor without her being there but I think I’ll always be afraid of playing myself up so too bad I guess 🤷.

I've seen other videos about tics "responding" to things. I understand echolalia, but these videos usually aren't that. Is there any logic to this at all, or any idea how this happens (especially with one-off tics)? The cheese/communism/rice ones make sense because they're usual ones.

In india there was a movie made on a teacher who was having tourette's syndrome and how she made a group of kids who were not considerd good succesful people My point is in that movie she repeatedly hit the part between chin and neck just like you are hitting your head Doesn't it hurt ? Because i am hearing a very big sound and also is that a tic or you're trying to suppress tic by hitting the head?
@slothbear8378

she’s said before that her hitting tics are very painful. in my experience other tics can also be painful like stretching my neck or jerking my head. hope this helps!
