You can only practise one thing for the next 30 days. What is it?

I bought the stick control book recently (ish) and started exploring that. I literally do page 5 for 24 minutes (1 minute per exercise), and I do that every day. I’m at 105 bpm playing sixteenth notes and that, at the moment, is my limit with some of those exercises (especially lllr, rlll and llll exercises). But I still do those same 24 exercises every single days, well, at least 6 times a week. Then I’ll do some of the other stuff, the triplet and short rolls, flam beats and flam triplets. My hand technique has improved, my finger control has improved and my overall playing has improved significantly as a result. Whatever I’m doing, if I don’t have time for an hour or 2 of practise, I do those same 24 exercises if nothing else....it definitely works doing that same routine every day.

That amount of dedication and practice will defo pay off. Those last exercises (9-12) will have a massive speed limit just due to the physical limitation of playing 3 on each hand

You are welcome man! I don't think doing one thing for 30 days is sustainable in terms of a long term strategy but it's certainly made me love practising again like I used to. So what's your next 30 days looking like??

Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed it. I'm doing a follow up video all about the exercises I used so look out for that in a couple of weeks. I'm really glad it inspired you too, what are you going to work on for 30 days then?

Another great video Dave. Dig out the weak parts and work on them. I think it's a case of 'practice what I preach and not what I do'! Thanks for the kick up the a**!

Life just gets in the way for everyone. Speed is also relative. My speed might be faster than yours but mine is slower than someone else's. As long as we are all improving and trying to get better that's all that matters. I've got the follow up video coming out next week buddy with all the exercises and tips with it. Cheers for always watching man!
