Just to drive home my point. Here is ScannerDanner diagnosing a vehicle with a lean condition because of a bad fuel pump. Also he states the same as me in part two 10%+/- total fuel trim is fine. Also you can not use the engine displacement as the indicator of if a MAF is reading correctly on an engine under 3.0 liters. Check out these Scanner Danner videos. kzitem.info/news/bejne/2q1nk66if6eJjWk kzitem.info/news/bejne/sax3yZ6NkXymbGk

I've been looking around for a great KZitem channel and Scotty was the first one I found. However, I'm really glad I found your channel. It's difficult for me to spot mistakes. These videos help me see things from a different (skilled) perspective.

I am glad I have been able to open your eyes again. There are much better channels then Scottys out there. Mine is one, I will be doing some other videos on different vehicles soon. As well as one's like Scanner Danner, South Main Auto, Diagnose Dan, Rainman Ray, just to name a few. Thanks for watching 👍

I was with you until you said the alternator and battery have nothing to do with acceleration but... don't they directly power the system? If your power is running low, wouldn't your fuel pump be running lower too? What about your sparkplugs?

Like I said if the battery and/or the alternator were causing problems like not charging, the customer complaint would be no/hard start, or battery keeps going dead. By the time the battery gets that drained from a bad alternator to effect the running of the vehicle, the vehicle will not start because there would not be enough amperes to turn the starter motor. If the alternator was no charging the customer would notice things like the headlights being dim, the battery light being on or a message on the information panel, or even the heater fan running slow, before they noticed a lack of acceleration. IF the driver ignored everything else and drove the vehicle dispite the fact they have to boost the vehicle evertime they want to go anywhere, the message or light on the dash, the dim head lamps and other electrical not operating correctly, then you are correct if the battery go that low on charge, it would effect the acceleration due to the fuel pump and coils not receiving enough power to operate correctly. But in all my time (over 20 years) working in the industry, I have never come across this type of idiot customer, and I have seen some stupid things lol. I did say in my video a fault with the fuel pump is a possibility, that could be also be power supply or ground supply to the fuel pump. Voltage supply to the coils would most likely cause a misfire and the PCM would flag a fault, in worse case the vehicle would either go into limp mode, or not start or run at all. Scotty Kilmer did not check any of this or even hint at the possibility. His injection cleaner did nothing. As I stated, the dealerships would have probably put something like that in, each one of them. So why is Kilmer's any better? 😅 Thanks for watching, and please watch my other videos.😄

I've driven a vehicle before that had such a slow voltage leak that it really wouldn't present any issues. No battery light, no engine light, everything worked fine. It wasn't until we shut the engine off and came out of the store 10 mins that the starter wouldn't turn over. So we jumped it, drove it home, it worked fine for a few more days. Then it would die again. Eventually we realized what was going on, but the electrical system presented no issues what so ever before the break down. I understand you have been in this for 20 years, but that doesn't mean you know every situation that could possibly happen to a car. Have you ever watched "Just Rolled In"? People drive in death traps all the time that shouldn't even be driveable so it doesn't surprise me that someone could overlook electrical. Sorry man, nitpicking comes with the react business 🤣

Not a problem I am up for constructive criticism. I have encountered vehicles with a slow parasitic draw before. I never said or have implied I know everything about all vehicles. I have fully admitted that I learn something new every day and often encounter new faults that I have not seen. Saying that I have been a technician long enough and I have worked on enough vehicles to know the basics and to know what will not be a cause of a fault. With your example vehicle, did you have a acceleration problem as the battery drained? By your description you had no idea there was a problem. If the alternator is supplying enough voltage to not trigger the voltage light (ie over come the Input voltage of to the internal diod so the light is not illuminated) then it will not light. This is one reason I liked voltage gauges as opposed to the light. If you have a faulty/weak battery then a lot of times the battery light will not illuminate, as the alternator is supplying enough voltage when the engine is running. The battery light comes on when you have the key on engine off as normal operation. Like i said and as you experienced, a faulty battery or alternator will cause a hard or no start before it would cause the fault Scotty is trying to diagnose. As I pointed out a simple turn the key and start the vehicle and see that everything is operating fine with no battery warning light, was more the adequate to test the battery and alternator in that case. Your fault was different and a battery and charging system test would have been the correct call as a first test, after confirming the fault and a visual inspection. Then a parasitic draw test would have been the next test if everything came up OK from the first one. I appreciate your comment and I hope you watched my whole video 😊. By the way what was the cause of the fault with your vehicle you talked about, and the repair?

But I am not wrong. He makes lots of content so YT algorithm promotes him. Just because he has a big KZitem channel, does not mean he knows what he is talking about. Thanks for watching 👍

I think he is only showing how wrong this KZitem 'top dog' is. Scotty would only be a decrepit old Chihuahua in the real world not a 'Top dog' 🤣. Any real automotive technician like myself knows Scotty is completely full of crap, and always has been. This guy is completely correct in this video. He used Scotty's own live data to prove Scotty did nothing to fix this vehicle. Motor Mind has proven this fact over and over again, Scotty is a dishonest hack who for the most part is lying and deceiving his viewers. This fella has also put up repair videos showing how to properly diagnose and repair a fault, as well as how to do maintenance correctly. I am sorry if this is not what you want to hear, but Scotty Kilmer is a fraud, no matter how big his channel might be. As they say "there is a suckered born every minute". I tell you what Byant, watch Scanner Danner, Diagnose Dan, South Main Auto, or even Motor Mind's own repair videos Then tell me who has the better knowledge and does the better repairs them, or Scotty Kilmer. I already know the answer by the way, even though all those channels are smaller then Kilmer's.

I find this absolutely SHOCKING that even when faced with undisputed evidence. Scotty Super fans still can not admit that Scotty is wrong and he does not know as much as he thinks. What else do you want? For someone to go to Scotty Kilmer and challenge him head to head to diagnose and repair a vehicle? I highly doubt Scotty would accept, and would probably hide away or call the police because he knows he would be showen up. Or for someone to find out a vehicle in their shop was just looked at by Kilmer and is there for the same fault? I doubt Scotty gives invoices, or has any paper trail the IRS could find. Or that Kilmer would even admit he worked on that vehicle. If I lived in his area, I would LOVE to get a hold of this vehicle and find the actual fault and fix it, and make a video showing everyone, but I live on where close, or i would do that lol.
