With your AK hand even though you had the Ace high flush you still have to be extra careful when board paired up. Especially when opponents checked raised on the flop that is a sign of strength with 2 pair plus he could easily had pocket 7. If you put it in the consideration your opponent would not jam with a small flush on the river with 1 liner to a flush that was too obvious of a full house

@@MagikarpPokeryou cannot think like that. The point of playing poker is to make the most money possible with that folding is making money. Plus ev in a long term is the way to do it which exploiting your opponent is equal to printing money. Especially when you have a bad session sometimes you have to sit in the chair with pain to wait for a good spot to strike. Or else I would rather go home or work out and make sure have the sharp mind before going to play again

Hand 2 i don't agree w/ aero saying it's a call. 1. if you're button and get 5 limps you should bet bigger, either 30 or 45 and pay attention to the short stack. 2. If you c bet flop and get check raised all in 1 SPR they could totally have a set of 77/99 because it's 6 way, or even 2p and you're still behind. A9s, 79, 99, 77, K7, K9, K7 are all way ahead. A made hand would totally shove on the flop considering there's both a flush and straight draw. You don't have enough info on the player so I think it's fine. But now you know they will shove multi way with nut flush draw so you catch them the next chance. - unless you have a read as you said he's young and gambling- but that is literally your 2nd hand. You wouldn't really know him well unless you were folding for an hour.

Hand #3: Betting so low on the River makes me think you were targeting his range at something like an overpair but when he calls re-raise on Turn and there's a flush available tells me he either has a flush or was trapping quads. Definitely worth a check-raise or a chunky bet on River.

It seems like you get semi coolered on a hand and then immediately tilt it off. The AK hand was just a bit unlucky. A call on the river is fine, if they are ever doing that with a worse flush or clicking buttons, it's an easy call.

That AK is definitely a laydown in my book especially in a low stakes game. You hold the nut flush on a 4 diamond board. What exactly would he be shoving with 2 hands a boat or quads.

The hand with pocket fives… you need to do that analysis in realtime during the hand instead of when the hand is over. You bet $30 into $200+ after he called your check raise on the turn on a paired board, he has a made hand flush or a deuce

Great Video Brother! thank you. In the Ace king hand When you say in the outro that "you should have gotten away from it on the river" Your kind of priced in at that point. I think the decision should have been made on the flop of either shuv or fold. If he calls your shuv and you dont improve and you lose the hand, I dont think it would have effected you mentally and tilted you so hard. Also I would have made it at least 25 - 35 pre flop with such a premium like that when out of position and 1 limper. I love your content man! My one bit of advice I have is just sleep bro. I just think your not rested enough, and that alone can effect your game greatly. You dont want to be the player whos up all night tired AF playing against a table of well rested individuals.

Yeah thats a great point - I kinda had that feeling in the moment knowing if I called the check-raise on the flop, I was probably gonna see it through assuming the diamond hit. the other thing you can do is leave your wallet in your car and just take 2 buy-ins with you to the poker table. before, i used to only play an amount that i am capable of winning in a session. so, if you're average win is $400, then you should only take $400 plus 1 full buy in with you to the poker table. that way you're only 1 day behind if you lose it all. if the game is just outrageous and you're just getting coolered, and you feel you want to play more, then leaving money at the car also gives you a chance to walk it off when you go back to your car to get more money.
@MagikarpPoker
5 күн бұрын
This is a great suggestion - normally I just bring $1000 dollars which is equivalent to 2.5 buy-ins into the poker room, but I might just start doing $600 on me and $400 in the car so that I'm forced to physically get-up from my seat. For whatever reason, if I have to go to the bathroom but can't get up from my seat (or tilted and don't get up), I play exponentially worse... talk about a leak LOL

You're a sick-o for playing so long and at so many places! So...the hand where the guy shoved all in with his gf sitting behind, in my experience, they usually don't bluff, since they will have to explain to their gf that he lost his money doing something stupid. Also, in the AdKh hand where you flopped Kd5d7d, he check raised the flop, so think about what you will be doing for the rest of the hand. Is there any chance you would fold with top pair and Ad? You are better off jamming the flop after the raise if you're going to continue. Lastly, tilt is the biggest leak. Tilt convinced you that you want to play better and you're not tired at all after playing so many hours and having that big meal. I don't know about you, but even if you were ok to start the second session, after an hour, the food will make you sluggish and tired. You should look at your history of sessions and see which day and time you won consistently and play that time slot.
@MagikarpPoker

Yeah honestly especially this player type, he seemed like a tighter reg so I shouldn't have paid him off. I've made it a goal now to not pay off nits and tigher regs (after a recent Orleans loss which will be documented not for a while lol). I'm realizing identifying the player type is actually really important because that will affect whether they even have bluffs or misplays (value betting the worst hand) in their range. Great suggestion - most my wins are normally shorter sessions and usually if I lose then play another session right away, I also lose that one 😬
@JamesLee-re3rb

Go back to your all night losing session at Orleans. You said to yourself that you played too long and lesson learned. You are clearly lacking discipline. You have to set your rule and stick to it. It’s not easy, and it takes serious discipline to overcome the degeneracy. Stick to your rules and be consistent on session after session. Trust me I’ve been there and every grinders have been there. You gotta win the battle within yourself first before win against others. Im rooting for you!
@markhellie6837

Great vlog, but stop being results oriented. The KQhh is a close call depending on your opponents. If you are at the Orleans against a bunch of OMCs, you are against least a set and your fold is very easy. But, against a wider range, you should call more often (maybe 50-75%-use the Dan Harrington watch method as a randomizer). Regardless, you seem very results oriented on that specific hand. We all get bluffed, but you just should figure out what your opponent's range is and what his bluff frequency is. If your opponent has a set 75% of the time and flush draws 25% of the time, your fold was fine, even if it was the 25% of the time.

Eat before you play, only play 4 hours win or lose set an alarm on your phone, Never drink alcohol while playing poker, never slow play premium hands preflop. Hand #1, I would jam river. He will never have full house at that position. If he binked two pair, he would have bet on turn (flush draw out there), especially two people behind, no way he let his opp to see free card and not protect his two pair, unless he is a fish. I would consider leading as well on turn as you can get value from flush draw and Ace. Hand #2: I would actually fold as well. Jamming when you raised there is so strong. Not your fault, they’re just playing like a stupid fish😭

Don’t feel anything! Use math! The AdKh hand is fine. Why is it fine? Because Math. Ask your coach how you can break down your played hands mathematically to analyze your play. If he can’t answer, get a new coach. If you choose to try to feel your way through things, I suggest you purchase a pool cue and go hang out at Griff’s and maybe join a league because poker is not going to be your thing. You’re going to lose at poker from time to time. It’s the nature of the beast. When someone jams the river, it’s usually the nuts. When someone check raises the turn, it’s never a bluff Also, don’t beat yourself up about opening with speculative hands because when those hands hit, you’re going to get paid - like the guy who played 57 against your AK.
