The problem with fakes is the person who buys it originally from Temu is fully aware of what they’re buying, but then after a while that fake is going to get sold on Facebook or eBay as the genuine product to some poor sod. Imagine paying £500 or so for what you think is a genuine set of p790s, you play them for six months or so with no success, so decide to trade them in only to be told they’re fake!

I'm not up for these fake irons. I'd much rather buy decent price DTC irons or just decent used irons. I've picked up a used 5-PW set of 0311 P Gen 4 irons for £370.00 and they are just magic. I'll stick to used as 1 man's trash is another man's treasure 🙂

I like others am uncomfortable with this, but i guess it’s informative. I spoke with an ex Ryder Cup captain that had just returned from a major manufacturers plant in China, same plant made various manufactuer heads. He said it was obvious that ghost shifts were in operation, and after delving found they used substandard materials to build identikit clubs, he was convinced they would return manufacturing back to the US. In respect of the cost of clubs, one day they are expensive, the next day you advocate buying a black set of irons for £2000, i agree paying for clubs comes down to your personal situation. Folk like me that like shiny new clubs, flood the used market for those on a budget or that think folk like me are mad. I by the way, think people that drink or smoke are mad, but i don’t ram it down their throat, to each their own.

Seems that golf irons are pretty much a solved problem. Yes, there's varieties like blades, cavity, and hollow but in each category it seems pretty straight forward to get similar results with similarly constructed clubs and lofts. Personally, I like supporting local distributors that give great service. PXG gives free loft and lie adjustment. 2nd swing gives great support on both new and used gear. PGA Super Store, etc. Definitely save with D2C but that can be achieved by buying 2nd hand.

I've never been able to afford a brand new set of premium clubs. And I would never buy counterfeit clubs, either. I support any/every effort that real manufacturers take to stop the counterfeiters. If you can't afford new premium, go with used, or even honest knockoffs. They're legal and they are up front about being knockoffs, so you know what you are getting.

how is it even possible to buy counterfeit chinese ripoffs and have them shipped into the country? There are plenty of options if you want a cost effective set to get going, get to Decathlon and buy some Inesis clubs or Costco for one of their packaged sets, at least they are their own brand and not trying to rip off someone elses hard work. It isn't even a discussion point, everything from these rip off sites should be 100% customs inspected and sent to the recycling center.

First off, if you're buying new shafts to put on them, just how much are you really saving? And if you're a golfer who's competing in events where you have to worry about whether or not your clubs are confirming, are you really going to buy ultracheap knock-offs off Temu? Seems to me that their "target audience" is weekend golfers who want to look like they're serious enough to buy big-brand clubs, maybe because they're tired of being razzed for playing with decade-old used clubs...
@zahimiibrahim3602
2 күн бұрын
My own set (TM RSi TP Forged) is near a decade old, nothing wrong with them other than being 2 clubs short in loft compared to some of the latest game improvers. Nobody ever razzed me and I don't see any truly significant technology improvement in the latest iron designs other than super strong lofts which in itself 'fake' in my opinion. Just my personal opinion but technology in irons has more or less been maxed out in the mid 2000's which is why 'extra distance' through playing around with loft has become the main selling point of modern irons.

Or are you to blame for buying clubs that you know are a rip off? I don't see the point when you do these types of clubs because a normal person isn't going to buy them and re shaft them all golf clubs are tested the chances of these irons are slim and none. The grooves have to be the right shape and depth on irons and as tou said there is a list telling you if they conform. So none confirming clubs and using them in your club comp is cheating. Faking clubs is illegal and you shouldn't be promoting them or making contact out of them. Personally I'm shocked you don't get reported by the company (TM) for breaking their copyright.
