Guys. Sitting over here crying reading all your sweet comments. 😭 I was SO nervous about posting this because I know firsthand how hard it is to see moms stay home when you’re going back to work, and to choose to stay home when you see other moms working… So thank you for your understanding, your encouragement, your prayers and your willingness to share your own stories here!! You all mean so much more to me than you know ❤

I had a feeling this was coming! I was working on my PhD and teaching at a major university. My first baby stole my heart, and our plan as a family changed dramatically! We don't have a ton of money with one modest income, but our kids have wonderful lives. They lack nothing important, but they gain a lot. ❤️

I'm a working mom and housewife. Things have been so difficult and hard on my mental health. My husband and I are working toward me leaving my job to be a SAHM. It's a very scary and difficult decision with so many uncertainties. I've been trying to find and connect with others who are working moms and desire to stay home so I really appreciate you sharing this.

I’m only seven minutes in but resonate with everything so far! I was a chef turned software engineer until this march when I lost my job a couple days before we moved across the country & then got pregnant with our first just a few weeks after moving! I’ve always been a multi-job/entrepreneur type and never thought I would even think about being a stay at home mom and here I am, 21 weeks pregnant and I feel like I’m slowly changing into a completely different person…and I’m not mad about it. I’ve always been surrounded by friends who said that you’re selfish if you have kids and kids basically ruin your life…I can’t tell you how thankful I am to be on the opposite side of that thinking and so excited to watch our family grow and be there for our kids!💚

Hi Beth! So proud of your decision! I’m 20 years old, my mom did quit her job to take care of me and my little brother: it has not been easy for our family here in Italy, BUT DEFINETLY WORTH IT. I can promise you that the deep bond, the connection that creates after years spent together like that, has been an incredibile blessing for our family (that otherwise, without her choice, her great strengh and support wouldn’t have probably been so solid). My mom is my best friend, we have great communication, i know that i can talk to her about anything…i can’t imagine my life without her (and my family) by my side. As much as your beautiful children grow up, you will become an amazing team. Maybe it’s financially not so easy, but i can assure you (from a doughter’s prospettive) that it’s SUCH A BLESSING FOR THE FAMILY. Sanding you and your wonderful family lots of love and blessing from Italy 💖💖💖

I resonate so much with this! Just did the same thing and had the same background and beliefs of corporate work and never saw myself preferring to be a stay at home mom and do my own business. I've said this before in my previous comments on your videos, but the season of life I am in is very similar to yours, and the videos you have been uploading lately have been resonating so much with me. Watching your videos is like sitting with a trusted friend and talking about the personal challenges I am currently going through as a new mom. God is using you to guide other women out there like myself, Beth. I am in awe of how in tune you are with the Holy Spirit's calling in your life and I love how you always bring the discussion back to God and what He is doing in you life ❤

This is so applicable to my situation! It is so hard to make this decision. I’m 5 months postpartum with my first and I though I would want to go back, but when the time came I cried my eyes out!! My husband is also a full time pastor. I don’t absolutely need to work, but like you I went through years of school to have a “career”. Now after marriage and becoming a wife and mother, I feel like my greatest calling is to be at home to be a homemaker for our family. I’m still working but my husband and I are discussing me staying home in the near future. We want to homeschool our kids so when that time comes, I’m ready to make those sacrifices. I 100% agree that you are replaceable at work, but not at home. You can never get those moments back with your family! So happy you made the best decision for your family and hope that God blesses you all for what you do.

For us, it was hard with both of us working. We had to pay for 10-12 hours a day of childcare and lots of Saturday’s as well… it’s also hard to find someone to watch your child on the weekend. We don’t have family super close by- the closest is 45 mins so affording and finding childcare as well as hating being away for so long from my baby drove me to this decision. I’m due with my second in December. It’s been so hard financially, and I’m trying to transition into a career with more regular hours and better pay but it’s been a real struggle. Even just getting an interview is a struggle. Please pray for us.

Being home is what we are meant to do. I believe that firmly while still understanding that's not always possible now. Obviously in todays world with today's material priorities and costs and today's issues like not having a great partner and living as a single parent etc ( been there!) Itsnot possiblw for everyone. Prioritizing our family and homemaking over a job is definitely definitely in the Bible and clear as day ( i do not claim to be Christian, but believe and am very educated on the history of the Bible etc) im suprised you didn't automatically plan for that? I wasnt raised that way and I even ended up at home.we only make 60k i actually found your channel back with your first kids and left your channel as soon as you planned to go back to work. Typically in Western civilization.. we "need" the second income as in we arent willing to let go of shiny pretty things/move etc.

I also made the decision this summer to leave my job as a teacher to stay home with my baby girl in the next school year. I love my job and my school family, but I know that being with my daughter is the best decision I could make. The school then offered me a part time position where I would come in for like an hour each day, so I feel like God blessed me with the best of both worlds.

Congratulations! I felt the same way after my first baby. It took us 8 whole years to get to the point where I could stay home. But we kept trying, and praying that someday I could, and the Lord provided! I was home with my 3rd and 4th babies from the start and being pregnant and having a newborn without having to worry about work was AMAZING! The experience was night and day different and so much easier and better for me! I really don't think you'll regret this decision Beth and for all the mamas wanting to stay home but can't right now, keep it on your heart and God will provide when the time is right. Don't give up!

Something I heard yesterday on an old video from focus on the family is "your worth is not in your work" and that gave me such peace for being a sahm instead of a physiotherapist. I left my government job this jan to start my own work in business/part time work, but I still didn't have peace about it, and I believe God is currently showing me to leave the part time work aside and be fully into being a sahm.

Feminism IS about respecting whatever women want to do. Giving women one option - whether that option be to stay-at-home like it once was, or to climb the corporate ladder, like you felt pressured to - isn't feminist. All options should exist! And to look down on being a stay-at-home wife and/or mother is doing what our society has done for too long, which is to look down on and take for granted the level of work and sacrifice that goes into that. Anyone who says that they're a feminist but judges or looks down on a SAHM for her job choice is not feminist because to judge in that manner is sexist.

So inspiring. Congratulations! I just had my second and feel the exact same way. It was so rushed and chaotic when I went back to work after my first. I felt so in sync with her when I was off and completely disconnected when I went back to work. Currently off with my second. My first is still in daycare but I think I’m almost ready to have her home more now that I’m almost out of the newborn phase. I don’t know how I’m going to do it with two kids when I go back to work. Hi Beth! I feel like you are speaking my whole spirit right now. It was definitely not even a thought to me to go back to work after I had my son. I love being with him so much and couldn’t imagine not seeing him the majority of the day. Which is so funny because I always thought I would work forever and not even have kids. Now I have a 2 year old and 6 month old and it is the joy of my life to get to spend every day with them. I started a KZitem channel last fall and have been loving watching that grow (no where near the size of yours lol) but it’s lovely to know that it could hopefully one day invest more into my kiddos and family financially. Thank you for sharing this video. It’s so important to support women in whatever they choose to do for their families. Your children aren’t going to remember if you and your husband struggled a few months to pay some bills. They’re going to remember their mom being home with them and spending so much quality time with them. I also built a marketing career from the ground up. I had so much experience under my belt and after I had my daughter, I dreaded going back. I quit and stayed home for a little bit. We lived well within our means for the first 5-6 months of her life. But because we needed my income as well, I had to figure something out and I decided to get my teaching certification so I can sort of have “the best of both worlds”. I will be off in the summer and on school breaks with my children, off on weekends (instead of attending corporate client events), off at 3pm instead of 5:30. And we got lucky and managed to get our daughter into a great church daycare right by our house. I’m grateful I got to spend so much time at home with our daughter, but I truly think this is what I was meant to do!
