"I do I do I do I do I do" was the first #1 to ABBA in Australia (3 weeks), follow by "Mamma Mia" (10 weeks) and "S.O.S." (1 week) all three songs in a row 14 weeks consecutives in #1 in UK after "Waterloo" (#1) the next singles was "Ring Ring" (#32) "So long" (not in Top 75) "I do I do I do I do I do" (#38) "S.O.S." (#6) in U.S. after "Waterloo" (#6) the next singles was "Honey Honey" (#27) "S.O.S." (#15) "I do I do I do I do I do" (#15) "S.O.S." is the real second worldwide hit to ABBA after "Watetloo"

Try “So Long” also from this album, ABBA: circa 1975. I have this old vinyl down in my basement. “ So Long” is very up tempo, and has a lot of old time rock roll feel to it. As for “ I do, I do, I do, I do, I do”: I have said it before. The BOOZY saxophones make this song.

On the old Dick Cavett Show the group guested on his program early in their career together. He gave them sheet music on the spot and without know the song they did a splendid rendition of "Don't Fence Me In." Just on the fly they did it spontaneously with good harmony.

Benny and Bjorn were actually NOT playing the sax, but did a fairly convincing pantomime. They did, however, write, arrange, and produce the song, as usual. Another great couple to review would be "That's Me", and "If It Wasn't For The Night"! These are among my favorites!

Nice catchy ABBA from 1975 with great vocals from Agnetha and Frida. Surprisingly this was one single that did far better in the charts in North America (US# 15, CAN# 12) than the UK (#38). The UK would become an ABBA stronghold from SOS (1975) - One of Us (1981).

This is one of the few songs that climbed higher on the American charts than the British charts. And the poor slobs thought at the time it was the best song on the self titled ABBA album. It is clever, no doubt there. Fabian, if you are looking for something unique listen to “ABBA undeleted”, a medley of unreleased demo tracks and studio outtakes. It was created long after the group broke up and was heavily resisted by Benny and Bjorn. Nonetheless it is a brilliant homage to their studio wizardry. "I do I do I do I do I do" was the First #1 to ABBA in Australia , where the ABBAmania. was begining but the second ABBA worldwide hit after "Waterloo" it's your Masterpiece "S.O.S." with the #6 at UK Official Charts and the #15 at US Billboard and #1 in Germany Swizterland and Belgium was the song that return ABBA to the Top 10 of all the charts after the success of "Waterloo" "I do I do I do I do I do" is great beautiful voices and harmonies but it's another style of music (no relation with "Waterloo") This video was filmed in two days, at the same time with "Mamma Mía", "S.O.S." & "Bang a Boomerang" I think that it's time to see the real live perfomance of ABBA: 1) "Waterloo" at Eurovision Song Contest 1974, an historic moment to ABBA and for the rest of rock & pop music 2) ABBA live in Australia 1977 "Tiger", the opening track, under the rain and wind, it's unforget 3) ABBA live in London 1979 "Does your mother know" & "Hole in your soul" both songs in a sequence at the end of the Concert it's the most power an energy of ABBA in stage, They shines at the highest level

One of my favorite ABBA songs. Yes, it does sound like Waterloo to me too. I think that it's a common thing for musicians to get "stuck" on a sound. I don't necessarily think that's a bad thing, because you then will associate "that" sound with the artist. I think that they also kind of got "stuck" on the video formats for their music. Back then, things were definitely more simple in terms of music videos, and it was that way for most artists. For ABBA, they seemed to like doing the split screens of the members facing one another. Again, I'm not criticizing. When music videos first started coming out, they were all pretty straightforward in their concept - it was generally just the singers singing their songs - sort of like a micro-concert and, for the viewer, you didn't have to try and interpret a meaning or decipher a bunch of symbolism and figure out what it all meant. In other words, whatcha see, is whatcha get, and nothing more. If you can find a video of the Eurovision Song Contest from 1974, I think you'd enjoy seeing it, because that is really where it all started for them and launched them into stardom.

Oh gosh! I just watched your “King Kong Song” reaction which is one of my least favorite ABBA songs and then AH! I saw this reaction which is also one of the worst ABBA songs (in my personal taste). Well, it’s going to be all good from this point forward with your future ABBA reactions because you got my two least favorite ABBA songs out of the way 😆. Looking forward to more of your ABBA journey. Just throwing out a couple of ABBA suggestions for your consideration to react to “Lay All Your Love On Me” and “The Visitors” which are sonically miles apart from this time period in ABBA’s musical progression. Again, thanks so much for your excellent ABBA reaction vids.

You can see at the end of the video that this is long before "the video age" when their names are written like they had been guests in a tv show. At this point in their career they were probably still not totally sure if it would be successful enough outside Sweden. The first half of the 1970s Björn and Benny still worked a lot with producing several other swedish artists. And Björns old group Hootenanny singers still recorded until 1974, produced by B & B. Both Agnetha and Frida recorded (released) swedish solo albums 1974/1975, Fridas was produced by Benny. Fridas album includes Fernando in swedish and this great swedish cover of David Bowies Life on Mars. m.kzitem.info/news/bejne/w26ltqt3rnijlqg It was not until after the success in Australia with this song and later everywhere except US with SOS and Mamma Mia that they only worked with Abba. So in a way Arrival is the first "real" Abba album, when they really found their sound.
