It's entirely possible that Armenia had Sati and the Yan Girls ready to go and decided after seeing some of the other competitors as to what they'd send to JESC, with the other going to this other contest. I wouldn't blame them for deciding after seeing some of the competition - it feels like a smart move.

I think it was a typical internal selection and the options were Satti and the Yan Girls. Honestly, Satti's song made more sense cause it is a patriotic song for Armenia, in the current context of Armenians being ethnically cleansed by Azerbaijan from Nagorno-Karabakh. But AMPTV chose the Yan Girls and we can't call them out on that. That's just how internal selections work. I don't blame Satti for choosing to do "Our Generation" following AMPTV's rejection of her entry, it seemed like a good opportunity for her. After all, the children here are not to blame here for being part of Russia's specifically-made mediatic propaganda. Cause, again, that's sadly what "Our Generation" is, just propaganda. 😥

well, as it was not organised by something equivalent to the EBU, I don't really have any determination to watch it as I do for Eurovision and Junior Eurovision. Intervision Song Contest, by how it was organised back then, was a bit better.

I'd seen posts about this on X/Twitter but didn't really pay them any attention. But I think I'll check the songs out in full myself. I thought about it and yeah OK the Russian governement may be funding it, but a kids music competition is hardly a crime. And like you I won't watch the show itself, even it was available here.

I hate Putin and the Z patriots, but I'm such a music nerd that if I like a song, I'll listen to it. If Putin himself was some master song writer and sang like an angel, I'd listen to him. That China's song sounds very heavily autotuned but maybe they thought nobody would notice.

My favorite was Kyrgyzstan, honestly. Listened to the songs once but that's the one that most caught my eye, because it's a very modern child-friendly EDM-inspired male pop song. Also enjoyed Armenia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Mongolia (this last one very robbed). South Africa and Brazil were nice to watch as well, since those countries are never seen near Eurovision events at all. And then, there were the others like Kazakhstan's version of Ariana Grande's "Side to Side" or Belarus' ironic ballad about love. China was fine but it was definitely not a televote winner entry. Sadly, Mauritius' song seemed the least appealing to me but the girl wrote that song herself with her mom and was the only one who I could understand throughout the whole event since she spoke fluent English. So she has a nice spot in my heart and honestly, she gave it all.
