I've had this dusty old table saw in my shop for almost two decades now. It could easily be twice that in age. Watching woodworking channels here on KZitem, you can easily see the main contender for table saw brand choice. I would imagine if a lot us had an extra $5,000 laying around we would most definitely buy a SawStop. When you're not a professional woodworker making large scale furniture or cabinets it's hard to justify one. The safety features are most definitely a plus, but it's hard to make that leap when you can get buy with something for a fraction of the price and just simply be aware of your surroundings while following safe operating procedures. I'm admittedly poking fun at some of the channels I love to watch while doing this video. I hope they will take it with a grain of salt and even notice my channel.

This video delves into making choices for your next tooling purchase or making do with what you have in order to maintain a more well rounded work space. With a little careful evaluation, you can make sure you have the tools you need. I may need to be extra careful with this saw, but at least I can have this and other tools, versus all my eggs in one basket.
Shop furniture is also a personal choice, I think. You should make what works best for you, but with a constantly evolving workspace, you should be careful how much effort you put in to just get the job done, vs something you will keep forever.
