> I love how all these creators are sharing content and becoming friends instead of seeing only competition. Well said! There are few things which are more productive than cooperation mixed with a little friendly competition. I frequently used little competitions back in the day when I was a drill sergeant/drill instructor in the Austrian Army to motivate my recruits and put a little fun into sometimes tedious training exercises, and never failed: my lads were more motivated, it helped them to train things like muscle memory via otherwise tiring repetitions, their team spirit became stronger, and last but not least, I also enjoyed my work more when I watched them become more proficient while they enjoyed themselves at the same time. And yes, granted: that isn't always possible because sometimes, tasks _are_ just tedious, exhausting or both and just _can't_ be sugarcoated in any way, but just have to be carried out no matter what. So you can't always be the "nice coach" as a DS/DI, but sometimes just have to be the relentless arsehole who demands that some task is to be completed whether your lads like it or not. But whenever training _can_ be made enjoyable, it should be made so, because that will lead to recruits/students become better and be more successful when they are confronted with the real deal.

I... once was on a recovery of a 10million dollar piece of biological test rig from the bottom of the ocean. When it came up on deck, it had all the hose clamps on the lines broken out, but the electrical tape (Super 33 3m. , NOT 88!) held for the whole reco. My only question is... was that 33? or 88? I'm guessing 33. Since we pulled up a 2 ton SLED from 4000 meters where ONLY the Super 33+ bands which had been to the bottom of the ocean for a year were what held the recovery system into the package. 88 is stronger, but can't stretch as much.

This is great. I've spent the past year learning about AKs to a massive degree. Actually had some surgically induced total downtime and read the textbook, "AK-47 the Grim Reaper." Very exhaustive. Having been in Jr. High when Red Dawn came out the AK has always been forbidden fruit. Grew up in the Rocky Mountain region where guns were everywhere to the point where there were three brands. Pistol, rifle and shotgun, AK and M stuff were the stuff of Chuck Norris, Stallone and Schwarzenegger all of which seemed unattainable. Now with all the ARs running around, which are great and I love, I started checking out the AK thing and it is a new and wondrous world of an entirely new weapons system. They are pretty ingenious and very diverse which doesn't even take into account the 7.62 v. 5.45 subgroups of fanatics which have their own separate arguments far away from the AR v. AK debate. Eventually you'll run into even more peculiar groups of SKS and Mosin enthusiasts. Just saw the AK-50 June 2023 update but didn't want to watch it without watching this one.

> Mike: how do you aim with this thing ? Random bloke from artillery unit: "Aiming? Meh - my weapon system causes AoE damage!" Although I do have to admit that in my salad days as an Armed, Raucous and Misguided Yokel (a.k.a. ARMY) in the Austrian armed forces, when I was trained as a sniper and later on introduced to AMRs such as the Barrett M82, M95 and PGM Hécate II, I quickly found out that aiming with a caliber .50 rifle still does enhance your chance to leave a mark right where you'd prefer to leave one - so I strongly suspect that aiming thingy some people are so fond of seems to have its benefits after all.
