My cost total $360,000 CAD Exchange 1.25 so $288,000 USD. I have about $80,000 to play with or $100,000 CAD!! Yeah!!! Off to find a nice fairly loaded GM square body shorty 4x4!!! Or 2 hahaha. It really is an expensive car with prodigious capabilities you can never use except on some special tracks, otherwise a very challenging commuter!! I’m not even into the looks so much. Prefer the GT for what it’s worth though at $240,00 USD still too rich for my blood. My favourite from the garage I have?? The 67 Chevy C10. Then the 67 Mustang. I built them from shells to what they are myself excepting the final bodywork and preparation. Reassembled from frame or subframes to final completion. 12.5 months build time total. C10 first, Mustang after. Didn’t even want a Mustang, but when I was picking up the C10 parts & frame, there was the Mustang in the rotisserie and the shop owner said it was for sale as the original owner went bankrupt. I couldn’t resist. All genuine new parts or NOS where possible on both builds. My time, plus some gifted relatives & friends, is not included in build costs. I am working on a 49 Ford F1 custom build purchased complete with GM 350 powertrain, being painted and bodywork touched up, then a Flathead V8 supercharged and C4 automatic is going in for street/show, not so much “go”. Then need a truck for the 350 and 4 speed automatic I pulled out of the 49 F1,,,,, hmmmmm. After that and the 79 (ish) K10 GM short box, I will be done! (Maybe). It’s a disease,,,,,,, I don’t want a cure,,,,,,,,, hahaha!!!

@@shitloveaduck No Jeep?
@shitloveaduck
3 жыл бұрын
@@Malc664 - no,,,,,,, I had a Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon diesel for a few months and traded it straight across for a 1969 Ford Bronco! I don’t have that now as a friend made me an offer I could not refuse! $30,000 more than I paid for the Jeep. I still get to drive it or ride in it on occasion. It is a beautiful truck, but killed my back!! I have had a bad couple of years and in 2019 was broadsided by a texting driver that ran a red light at an outer city intersection. The speed limit was 80 kph, 50 mph and the guy was driving about 110 kph or 65 mph. He didn’t brake, nothing and I was driving a 69 Bronco I had built myself with the help of a lot of friends. It rolled naturally and if it weren’t for the roll age my one friend insisted on, I would be dead. For what it was, I was in a coma for 3 days, then in hospital for a few more weeks and even now have not recovered fully. They had to do a hip replacement, use plates a screws to put my pelvis back together and my back was seriously injured as well. Broken collarbone, shoulder, arm, femur!!!, ankle. The kid was I injured. I was not exactly comfortable driving the new Bronco. I have been looking at a 2 door Rubicon, but really like the looks of the original Unlimited 2 door and would like to do one up with the Gr8 Top and make it a cool pickup! That I will do for sure, just want to finish the 49 F1 for now. I have a 350 and 700R4 sitting in the shop with no vehicle to put it in,,,,,,,, hmmmm. Too bad Jeep made such a great motor in the 4.0 litre inline 6. You can’t find one that’s dead unless it has about 250,000 to 300,00l miles!!! The Jeeps that age are pretty rusty here. Could always sell that powertrain from the Jeep pretty quick though. Thanks for the question!!! My next build is coming together!! Not a build everyone will like, but nothing sounds better in a Jeep than a V8!! This one has a claimed 375 HP and 400 lb ft of torque. Maybe I will get it dyno’d before I put it in anything,,,,,,. I appreciate Jeeps and if I could find a really nice J10 4x4 or Comanche Eliminator 2wd, I would pick it up, but they are not common here without more rust than I care to tackle again. Sorry about the long response, it’s just something I tend to do. Please stay safe, Eh!

I agree a demon would destroy this overpriced car on a drag strip or on the streets 24/7...the new corvettes are basically a mclaren anyways!! 🤣 and they last wayyyy longer and are reliable..even if i had the money what is the point? You cant even drive it
@shitloveaduck
3 жыл бұрын
@@mikehogan5087 - but, ,,,, but, it has the auto lifting front end so you can clear the speed bumps with the front end. You might hang up in the middle, but you didn’t scratch the chin!!! Hahaha. Of course the new Vette has the same,,,,,,,. I had a 2020 GT500, which was not in this class, but still an impressive car. Since our track closed down, it becomes just another new car to drive,,,,, so to speak. I traded it in a very clean and original 67 Chevelle SS 396 4 speed from the original owner. They appraise similarly. He also included a 2015 Mustang GT that had some very nice mods to the body. Both cars got more attention than the GT500!!! A bit of a negative for me, but show that they are more interesting! Sold the Mustang GT to a cousin who has since put a supercharger on it and a few other modifications to bring that car up to about 600 hp. It’s impressive. Nothing like driving any of my classics though. I’m much happier with them. My buddy has a 2020 Corvette Z51. It’s a very impressive vehicle for the money and from GM!! It’s pretty exotic and the launch is only 3 tenths of a second slower to 60 mph than the McLaren. He has had no issues with it and last year and this year it is his summer daily driver when he doesn’t need his truck. He has put about 30,000 miles on it. Not bad since here in Alberta, we can get some pretty short seasons for driving a Corvette.

*Boring!* When you spend enough time around vehicles like these, you learn to appreciate the best. McLaren isn’t quite there, either in presence or pedigree, to justify their price point. They also lack in culture to guide them. Now that Bruce is gone, you have to wonder why they’re still in the business at all.
