These amazing canyons could have given us the legend of The Garden of Eden in the Old Testament. The monsoon rains that you witnessed were a lot stronger when civilisation started in the Middle East and there was a green coastal area along the south of the Arabian Peninsular. Oman contains the remnants of this green oasis.

I am heading to Tiwi next week. I wonder where exactly is the part this video is about. I would like to go there and risk my life too :). Is this between Mibam and Umq Beir? It seems that you went through a canyoning area without any equipment. BTW: Very good work, especially the text seems very professional.

Oh man what an adventure. Reminded me of a torrential downpour when I was on Masirah Island Oman. I woke up in my rental car to find the area near the port flooded. I took the ferry back to mainland Oman and when I arrived in Nizwa the wadi there had obviously flooded and the car park was similar to those you experienced, mud mud mud. Makes one truly understand why it is not advisable to camp in or near a wadi. Also further on a cave I wanted to visit was closed and wasn't going to open for a long time, totally flooded.
