As a BP resident, I do have to agree that the BPLRT is completely horseshit and I avoid it whenever I can. It's so uncomfortable and doesn't even save that much time as compared to taking the bus. Not sure why it still exists considering the fact that the whole reason it was built was to bypass traffic held up by the KTM train, and the KTM no longer exists so?? I'm still very perplexed by LTA's decision to upgrade the LRT instead of demolishing it

In defense of the NEL, ~There are train waiting times. For some reason the station you visited (Outram Park) had some system issues on that day ~i gotta agree that it is quite crowded and packed, though its still quite efficient considering the minimal delays it had caused over the 20 years. ~System wise, NEL itself is quite dated and yes there are different chimes (the lower one is recorded earlier in 2003 and the newer ones were updated versions) ~There are tunnel lights for all underground systems, just depends if the operator wants it to be turned on. ~The announcements can get muffled at times, but its more or less improved with the new refurbed C751AR ~The noise control on the NEL, CCL and DTL are fairly more well controlled compared to the kawasaki ones (NSEWL/TEL) ~Acceleration and braking wise, i gotta agree on that. also SBS>SMRT :D (coming from NEL user)

I think it's a little different compared to Punggol, in that the LRT was built after the HDB blocks were built, compared to the Punggol line being built around the LRT line instead. Great video! TEL would score the highest for me if it only has more seats. EWL at 7 is being too kind, since it’s the worst travelling experience for me with barely-there air conditioning and a stench that can only come from sweaty students and PMEBs. To be fair to the NSL and EWL, they are both old lines. The train you rode on the EWL is the old first gen Kawasaki C151 train and most of the trains running on the EWL are old while the NSL is using mostly newer ones after SMRT swapped the fleets in 2018 for some reason. For the TEL, despite the noise, it is a pretty decent line, the doors closing warning is good enough, better than the NEL, so I don't see what's bad about it. The exit signs yeah, can be improved much.

Glad that the algorithm recommended this, especially since I've recently started reading up on the MRT system. Thanks for this video, I believe the ratings are quite accurate! I agree with your points, but I want to try and explain some things: (Assuming that your journey was Springleaf -> Woodlands -> Choa Chu Kang -> Bukit Panjang -> Botanic Gardens -> Buona Vista -> Outram Park -> Punggol LRT) 1. Yeah, Bukit Panjang LRT is bad. They built the infrastructure in Bukit Panjang first, before the LRT, so the LRT has to avoid all those buildings. While the LRT in Sengkang and Punggol were planned together with the infrastructure, so it's much better there. 2. There are not one, but two CCL - EWL interchanges, Buona Vista and Paya Lebar, but yeah Buona Vista is way closer to Botanic Gardens. 3. Why is the EWL so crowded? If you look at our MRT map, should one live in the west, the only line to get out of the west and towards the CBD is really just the EWL. So even tho they use 6 carriage trains for EWL, it's quite crowded. 4. It makes sense for Outram Park to be crowded too. If you look closely, it is the only EWL - NEL interchange, as well as the only EWL - TEL and only NEL - TEL interchange! Overall great video, and I hope I helped to answer some of your questions!

The dot matrix display is underutilized except on NSEWL & DTL, as they don't tell you what lines you can transfer to at interchange stations. Those on TEL are also often blank. Sengkang LRT I would give 5/10. It's sort of worse than the Punggol LRT, in that it's similar that it doesn't shake as much, but the turning makes it hard to balance. Example, Sengkang to Ranggung. The train turns at such a sharp angle that a lot of times I stumble. The stations themselves very dated also. Yellowing in many parts of the walls, and for some reason the column's rubber parts got a few places missing??

All LRT i'll give 1/10. They are a disaster to begin with, designed for masochists. There are no escalators, only stairs and lifts, and the lifts are hot like sauna all the time. The platforms at BP LRT's stations are split to both sides, with the tracks in the middle, meaning if you climb up the wrong side, you've to go down and climb up the other way. SK and PG ones fixed this problem for most of the stations but Fernvale station is still designed this way for god knows what reason. The stations are not manned so if you encounter any issues with the gantry, you might as well just give up and take the bus instead. And don't' get me started on SK station. SK East and SK West shares the same tracks there, and one can only know which direction it's going by looking at the electronic signage, many people who are not familiar with the place, or old people who can't read English, will often end up taking the wrong train to the wrong direction.

US resident here, but frequent visitor to Singapore. A few comments: First off, nice video. Although isn’t there an LRT in Sengkang or is that just an extension of the Punggol Line? As to the TEL, we rode it about a week after the extension that included Havelock Station was open. I thought it was a very rough and very loud ride. We were just back in Singapore a few weeks ago, and rode from Havelock out to Parkway Parade. Much quieter and much smoother ride. Maybe the wheels needed some grinding down on the tracks to make them smoother. I’ve always seen next train time postings at NEL stations. Maybe a system problem the day you filmed. Not a fan of the Punggol LRT at all. We much preferred the bus. We always got confused as to which arm of the line we should get on. Slow learners. While I don’t mind the NS and EW lines, they’re both pretty regularly crowded and I find the NS Line to be slow. Haven’t taken the Circle Line enough to have an opinion. I like the Downtown Line. It got me out of a problem when a bus we took from KL to Sing left before we could clear Singapore immigration (pre-automated gate times). As a U.S. resident, however, I can safely say that ANY city in the U.S. would leap at the chance to have a subway system even 10% as good, clean and efficient as Singapore. You forgot to assess also the toilets on all these lines man. Not trying to be funny here - it does make a huge diff to the experience of regular users. NEL Is absolute shite because it's so old, at night the aircon is macam off, the toilets are horrid, and it's perpetually crowded (you're right), because it is such a short line with six interchanges. CCL is actually not really crowded except between Bishan and Serangoon. Very pleasant except it's really loud. DTL is the best overall in my opinion as trains are nice and new, smooth, and crowd levels are usually ok. Toilets are the best here, and the stations are very well maintained and quite decently designed (I disagree with you on this point).

I really love the TEL, its just new, and I feel like besides DTL, TEL is the most diverse line going across the country! Anyway, I'm just gonna put my personal ratings here: NSL/EWL: 7/10, cool above-ground view, and new trains as well as good connectivity! BPLRT: Dogshit. But the announcements are infinitely better than SK/PG LRT. Idk, maybe I just prefer Juanita Nelson's voice, but the ride sucks ass. NEL: 6.5/10. The station designs are kind of boring, and feels like a more boring line. Announcements are sometimes muffled and inconsistent. PG/SKLRT: 6/10. Train announcements are.. annoying, always happening. I mean, look at stations, such as Tongkang and Layar on SK West Loop. The announcements are annoyingly repetitive. The ride is definitely better than BPLRT, but overall could be better with the acceleration. CCL/CEL: 6/10. Trains' aircon is amazing, but the blue florescent lights really dampened the mood and made the ride feel depressing. DTL: 7.5/10. The train designs feel like a rejected TEL design, but the announcements and the door closing siren is the best! Not too harsh but also there. Tickles my brain in the funniest spot. TEL: 8/10 Announcements are loud and clear, trains are beautiful and looks like a business class airplane if you look up for a long time. Stations are amazing and beautiful, someone cooked. But the smell does get annoying after a while.

In defense of BPLRT, children love the ride. In defense of NEL, EWL, they endured 15-20 years of abuse and neglect before a minister miraculously saved them in 5 years. But the damage was done. It could have been 10/10 like the ageless Madonna/Demi Moore.

DTL trains are manufactured by Bombardier which also builds aircrafts, the similarity in raw materials used my contribute to similarity in smell

Subscribed! Great content dude. A final slide showing a summary of all your ratings would be great. The EWL does smell funny, and its my least favorite one. My favorite would be TEL, followed by DTL

I'll be honest, I don't know how this popped up in my YT recs. I have like 0 interest when it comes to trains or any vehicle of transport, but watching this is somewhat soothing for some reason

Tbh, the BPLRT and CCL is probably the least favourite lines I’ve rode to date. Unlike the Sengkang / Punggol LRT, there is lots of ‘disadvantage’ to the BPLRT like the bumpy rides, tracks and train windows is somewhat ‘frosted’ most of the day which I don’t know why when the SKPGLRT train windows are not frosted and can run normally. I prefer taking the SKPGLRT more tbh cause I like their trains and the announcements too, and the stations are more ‘spacious’ (especially Punggol) than the BPLRT. For CCL,I don’t really like how some stations is so ‘extremly’ crowded like Serangoon or Bishan, they should make this line a 4 car line just like TEL. Otherwise, I do enjoy taking the NSL, NEL and TEL regularly despite disruptions happening often especially TEL but we have to deal with it, NEL trains design are the best I’ve seen for our rail network being the first ever fully automated and driverless line.

CCL & DTL Stage 2 also stop at quite a number of stations that most passengers don't board/alight from, wasting many passengers' time e.g. Farrer Rd, Telok Blangah, Pasir Panjang, Cashew, Hillview

The funniest thing about the BPLRT is that one of its stations was built next to a ITE causing extreme congestion before and after school overstaining the small LRTs. The outram park station is also the 2nd last line in the northeast line hence it is extremely crowded not to mention having 3 mrt lines interject into each other, its practically how most people vet onto the northeast line
