@@ldqa2737 I spent my entire career working in the Affordable Housing Industry. We often experienced these kinds of reactions from folks we were helping. I will say this; most people are embarrassed that they need help. They’ve grown up being taught that Americans should be able to provide for themselves. So when they find themselves between a rock and a hard place it’s tough to just be open and accepting of other’s help. Staying/going back inside is the least stressful reaction. Now, of course there are always exceptions; but I would give the Residents the benefit of the doubt. After all isn’t the important thing here that human beings are helping each other out and not that proper acknowledgement should be shown by the recipient? Let’s just keep things in the spirit in which it was offered! I’m so very glad of those who offer the help and just wish that our society didn’t leave people behind quite so often.

Hey Al I just had an idea! You know how in some videos people get upset when you mow or cut down a plant that they love and want to keep? What if you asked them at point of contact to put up some tall flags right at that plant so you can see it, know it's there, and trim around it? Sometimes special plants get lost in all the tall growth and you can't see them. Just an idea to help you avoid that issue. If they did a walk through with you and you placed those markers on or near the plants they love it would help out a lot IMO. Love your work. God bless you!

what I don't understand is how to express people's gratitude. You moved their house and they act like you didn't do anything. They don't even leave their homes to check out the final result. Americans need to value the simple things in life more. If it were here in Brazil, people would be eternally grateful for your services, they would give you lunch, they would look at everything you did in the smallest detail. congratulations my friend

I had a similar experience when I was doing landscaping back in the 90s. I went to a home to plant a single Yew bush, and before I could even get started, I had to shovel about 100 dog bombs out of the lawn. The dog and the kids were running around the whole time. Nobody helped. Nobody talked to me. Nobody acknowledged me, and nobody thanked me. And they didn't even pay me for doing it. But I have too much respect for dogs to let them live like that. Al, yours is one of the first channels about mowing that I've enjoyed and followed, even when you were working with your friend. and remains one of my favourites. your style, your generosity, the care you put into your work and helping others are commendable. but I know I've said it before in other comments but never like this time I have to repeat it. why do you do such a job for people like that? if I may be frank: and who cares if he gets a fine? he deserves it! but do you think he's someone who really needs help? huge, luxurious home, 3 almost new high end cars parked outside! he's just a lazy fat man who lives slovenly (shows up without even a shirt on)! if he gets a fine, which he deserves, he can afford it, he has the money! as well as the extra pounds, and I don't give a damn about body shaming. you do a tiring and expensive job but you do it to help those in need and many have already thanked you for this. don't lose sight of the goal of your work, which is to help others. I will always follow you with interest and affection, and I hope to find in your videos the initial spirit that attracted and involved me. happy new year once again. best, Alessandro
