At first glance I didn’t think this sink was going to clean up. But with a little determination and willpower (and my handy power scrubber 😂) I was able to pull it off. It obviously still has some wear from age, but I’m so happy with how it turned out! What do you think? Quick tip for using bleach/ chlorine: apply it at night. Chlorine's effect is reduced because the light affects the molecules and makes it less effective (hence why the bottles are always solid white/ green/ blue but never transparent), so if you apply it and let it do it's thing through the night, you can clean it up in the morning pretty easily without all the handy effort. Be careful though, and leave the area ventilated when you apply, because the smell can be dangerous for you.

I lived in a house for 5 years that had a black matte sink. I DESPISED that thing. I couldn't tell when it was dirty...it was BLACK!🤷🏻♀️ I couldn't tell when I had gotten it clean...it was BLACK!🤷🏻♀️ I quickly learned not to use powdered cleanser, because it was nearly impossible to rinse it off completely. It would look fine wet, but once it dried, it had whitish streaks. I finally settled on Scrubbing Bubbles for cleaning.

Cool. As for the scratches; there exists enamel repair stuff - to fix cracks, chips, and other damage to porcelain glaze. I suspect you could use it to smooth out this surface too. Also; wet sanding (with a very fine grit) could remove this type of grime a little faster maybe. (The coarse side of a spunge = a scotchbrite pad - basically sandpaper too. Might as well try the actual thing sometime (carefully))
