Greetings from a senior - but young-at-heart - follower. As a former Edinburgh resident, I think what you all can smell is a mix of hops, yeast and malt from the breweries and distilleries. A well-known feature of the city :) Thanks for all you do. I'm a lifelong theater person and love your enthusiasm and your insights.

Ohhh seeing you low on a Sunday morn was sad! You can feel how much you care about this work and we're always so grateful for it. Your 90% is still something glorious so be kind to YOURSELF ❤️

Sunshine on Leith is happening directly outside my office window this year. I'm a bit done with the Fringe already lol. Glad you survived your trip! Few FYIs: - EICC = Edinburgh International Conference Centre. You almost had it! - For future reference, Pizza Geeks' Haymarket shopfront is only a 5 min walk from the EICC. You might have more luck getting the GF base at one of their permanent places! - The 'bready' smell is hops/malt, mostly from the North British Distillery. You'll get a waft every time the wind changes. - Victor Hugo Deli is a good breakfast/lunch option. They also serve wine. - In my experience, The Meadows and Cowgate always confuse Google Maps. Cutting through either is a pretty reliable route. - Edinburgh seagulls are huge and unhinged. Yes, they do sound Scottish

I’ve just come back from my Fringe trip and I saw 13 shows. I’m exhausted, so I honestly don’t know how you have the energy to see 30! - I’m very impressed 🙌🏻 Also, I saw you and Aeron whilst I was in the queue for Kathy and Stella. I waved at you both awkwardly from afar 😂 but it was lovely to spot you both there! 😊

Wow. I truly appreciate your honesty and the way you allow us to share the range of the experience, even the running. So glad you made (and hopefully enjoyed) all the shows. And glad you let us know you were staying fed and hydrated. And I hope somehow you felt us sending you hugs on your busiest day.

That bready smell is from the various breweries across the city (probably Barney’s if you’re Summerhall way, and the Hanging Bat if you’re Usher Hall way). I worked two fringes with Assembly, so this video was a joy for me, thanks ❤

You've inspired me to go to the Fringe this year! The smell is probably hops from brewing beer or from a whisky distillery

I'm so excited to watch this later. I am in trouble lol. Very onpoint advertising on an article I was reading at 4am a couple of weeks ago mean that I purchased a playbill "cruise" for the fringe next year. It stays at the port there and there will be some shows onboard and days are free to roam the fringe for 7 days. It is extremely overwhelming to think about.

Lol here's me getting anxious for you when the first show didn't start in time with the next one so close. Last year we had "Murder she didn't write" lined up for after "Fantastically great women who changed the world" (literally next door) and didn't make it to murder because the show started and therefore ended 15-20 minutes later. Glad it worked out for you though! 😊

arent there buses there, did you HAVE to walk everywhere?
@JC-gu3tj
Жыл бұрын
The shows are spread across the city centre and the buses in Edinburgh act to get people into the city not around the city. Also lots of roads get closed for parades, drink spaces etc and little old streets and stair passageways mean that buses don’t fit on those routes anyway so quicker to walk (but lots of stairs)
@MickeyJoTheatre

I've taken buses in previous years but with such small time windows, waiting for a bus is a risk - I don't remember buses really passing me on any of those walks.
