Crosswalk Sign Arduino Project. In this video, I take a legitimate crosswalk sign my daughter picked up from a curio shop in Indianapolis while we were on vacation. She wanted to know if we could get it working and make the walk and stop portions of the sign actually alternate back and forth like when it was in use for real. I got the idea of using an Arduino to control relays to work the high voltage needed for the sign, and a project was born. This takes you thru the testing, all the way to the final product. It turned out just great, and I can't wait for my daughter to see the final result.
The arduino code used is posted below.
void setup() {
pinMode(13, OUTPUT);
pinMode(12, OUTPUT);
}
void loop() {
digitalWrite(13, HIGH);
digitalWrite(12, LOW);
delay(20000);
digitalWrite(13, LOW);
digitalWrite(12, HIGH);
delay(20000);
}
