Steven Covey felt that the first key to success was to "begin with the end in mind". Every metals purchase I've transacted was made with "the sell" in mind. I don't buy anything I can't sell easily. I also discuss this plainly with the metals dealers I've done business with. If debating between two options, I'm known to ask: "Which one would you buy back quicker and why?" If I can't sell it later, and do so easily, I don't want it. Zero percent of my stack has been in sentimental or numismatic directions. I buy only lower premium - although not always the "lowest" - , and highly recognizable, well-known coins, rounds, and bars in various weights/sizes. BTW, even the packaging matters. I had a stack of 1/4oz gold coins that was encased in their original plastic sleeves. Was thinking I'd get capsules for them until a dealer told me he'd pay me a bit more if I left 'em in the original sleeves. Done. (They do look so nice in capsules but hey, it's about the sell; not how it looks in the safe.)

in argentina when banks were closed and they robbed their money, people used to trade with jewelry. Coins were less valued than jewelry. There are pure .999 jewelry now like pure gold jewelry, that dont tarnish and it is hard no soft because they are arc welded not soldered like stearling silver. Look them up!

Buying silver or gold as an idea becomes much stronger if linked to savings generally. Acquiring small amounts of a tradable metal can be more fun than watching a bank balance grow and at the same time lose value, especially in times of high inflation.

Thank you for your service. Excellent advice. I've diversified my stacking, and have an excellent relationship with my local dealer. So much so, they often give me free silver when I visit. I have 1920's Peace dollars, ASEs, Pandas, Canadian 1.5 oz Polar Bears, 10 oz bars, a 100 oz bar, Trump rounds and some other novelty rounds that I got a good deal on, but my shop owner buys by the weight, not by what is printed on the coin. So, most of my stack is just the cheapest 1oz rounds I can get to maximize the volume of my stack. Like you, with inflation, I've had to cut back significantly on monthly purchases, but I find it better to buy silver than anything else. Recently, while walking around Walmart, I asked my children how much they thought they could resell the items for that they saw in the store. Not even 10% of the purchase price . . . if at all. Silver IS money!!
@floridastacker
Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I have received free silver in the past as well, that relationship is important as you know! Generic Rounds for me are the best option as long as I'm buying them in full tubes of 20 or more as in Florida under $500 is taxed. American Silver is not taxed but comes with the higher premium (ASEs, 90%, Peace/Morgans).

Hi! Bars can be a big let down when going to sell. My dealers do not care about the mint that produced unless it is vintage. I buy from All American Gold and Silver in Apoka/Maitland as they are cheaper and I sell to Orlando Coin Exchange on S. Orange (appointment only) as they pay higher. Best of luck!

Yikes, that hurts…. This video seems to be an apologetic exercise from the content creator’s viewpoint on grieving after the selling process.

@@floridastacker darn that's some big trees, how girthy is the thing ? Certainly a two man job with one of these old timer's crosscut saw. After looking it up this is like 0.8 meter in diameter, that's a hell of a cut and with 60ft of height you need to cut it in like at the very least 5 times after removing all the branches. Good thing you where able to get it sorted, and have a good day sir !

Awesome, thank you! Hope all is well in the UK! I am a big "Soccer" fan and my favorite club is Arsenal. I went to England when I was 15 and played in a couple "Soccer" tournaments. My family on my Fathers side is mostly English, and I have distant relatives that live near South End on the Sea. I would love to bring my family back one day to see the sites. Thanks for subbing and best of luck with the channel and stacking.

Hey i'm sorry if the coins I showed were the ones you thought I'd sold. I sold low premium rounds, a tube of phils, and a tube of kangaroos and a Gold maple leaf with a copper spot. The stuff I didn't want to keep. I don't have many bars, just a few really. I'm more into rounds and coins.

I would look up local coin shops or bullion dealers near you and set-up an appointment to bring your stuff in for appraisal. I'd recommend at least 2 so you can price compare. If you do not have a coin shop or bullion dealer near you call a jewelry shop and see what they say? Other than that there is the internet like eBay.

Yes and no. Pretty much I was at risk of being dropped and options here are limited for a home of its age. Plus the out of pocket expense was $7500 and i have a $5,000 deductible so didn't want to risk being dropped over $2,500

When you sell can you ask for cash instead of getting a check?
@floridastacker

Yes, assuming they have the quantity on hand. If you're selling a lot it's best to make an appointment in advance and let them know you want cash so they can prepare

I’ve thought it would be more prudent to ensure you have enough cash reserves for emergency before stacking. This way, you will never have to sell your stack. And how is the Gold Buffalo a low premium gold product? Wouldn’t gold bars be a better choice?

@@floridastacker Thanks for clarifying. Are gold bullion coins having the similar premiums or do they tend to be higher? To avoid losses, in situations such as this, would be good to choose the low premium bullion products.

In central FL here.. mine went fro $2300 to $3500. I'll be cutting back elsewhere as slowing down stacking is not an option for me.
