I have had my Tremor 401a package since September. Truck has been flawless. Best truck I have owned to date by far and I have had my fair share of other brands including Toyotas. I actually picked this truck over the current Raptor. Just felt it was a better value especially with that rumored Raptor R coming out soon. I did a lot of research before picking this truck up. Chevy does have a big issue with their engine lifters. I think you got really unlucky. I feel like most brands out there are pretty reliable, but they all have problem vehicles here and there. Just have to pray when buying a new vehicle, that you don't get one of those and I know that is almost impossible to determine. From past experience once a newer vehicle has a couple of issues in the first year or so, I feel like it's kind of a lemon and will continue to have problems down the line and I know it is hard to get out of a vehicle that you just purchased. With the current market now, glad to hear you got a pretty good amount for your trade. I do agree with you, weird things are happening during this pandemic. I do see service and quality control taking a step down. I think Ford should have taken care of you a lot better. I know it sucks and can be frustrating when your brand new truck at this price point continues to have problems. Ford should have just taken the truck back and put you into a new one regardless if the truck fell under the lemon law or not.

2022 f 150 Lariat Powerboost DANGEROUS right off the lot. We had a problem next day with an electrical failure. Steering wheel system frozen while running 1 minute after my wife got off the highway. That could have been catastrophic accident. Towed to dealer and it happened to them as well. Truck has 160 miles and we put less than 100 miles on it ourselves. We ordered it from the factory, waited 5 months, and now still no truck. My experience or suspicion is a short in the electrical system or maybe a software issue but it burned up 2 fuses, impossible to track down and fix. Lost any trust in a brand new ford lariat with all the bells and whistles. We have to wait 20 days before we can file lemon law in this state and be refunded. Thank you

Unfortunately, my local dealership made the problem’s impossible. They have the worst customer service, the biggest dealer markups on new f150’s. 20k markup on V6 raptor, 25k markup on lightning (used lariat). The whole situation has been completely terrible. The dealership kept pretending my truck wasn’t under warranty and worked hard to make me pay ballooned service prices for things that were most definitely under warranty. After establishing the warranty, they didn’t do the work beyond diagnostic. Like replacing the thermostat for the known overheat condition. Terrible service.

Been following your F150 experience and sorry to hear the issues. However, keep in mind that in today's world of high-tech, complicated systems, and strict computer algorithms that monitor these systems with minimal margin for error, codes are thrown a LOT. On EVERY manufacturer. Not just Ford. Most of the time you can honestly ignore the code and reset. Case in point, my 2019 F150 was a flawless pickup for years. But it did throw a code (PCV vent) twice before 8000 miles. Yes, 8000 miles. I checked obvious things like hose connections, but then cleared it and went on with my life. For the next tens of thousands of miles that F150 was PERFECT. No issues whatsoever. Don't think too much about the small stuff. I know a check engine light is alarming and we all think it should NEVER EVER come on, but most of the time it is simply a hiccup that the computer works out on its own and will probably never happen again in eternity lol. I have personally had excellent luck with F150s for decades. And I have owned all 3 domestics as well as Toyota..

When you are unlucky enough to purchase a lemon, the quality of the dealership service dept really matters. I'm seriously considering ordering a 2023 F150 XLT regular cab. One of the reasons I want a lower spec truck with fewer options is to hopefully avoid these kinds of issues. Plus, things generally have gotten a lot better since your Tremor was built last year. I've had highly optioned vehicles and it's a nice experience, but for this truck purchase, I want to save money and keep a compact wheelbase so it's nicer to commute in. Also, I'm getting the 2.7 ecoboost which is the most reliable F150 engine now and will perform nicely in a single cab short bed truck.

I would never pay over 60k for a truck that was built during shortages of qualified workers, chips and parts. Not only that, these trucks are HEAVILY dependent on computer chips. Quality issues are coming straight out from the factory. Paint issues, short cuts on parts etc. Wait a couple years before you buy a new truck. These "trucks" are built for people who WANT a truck not that NEED a truck. These will never, ever see some rock trail up a mountain. These were built like cars, so they will have tons of problems. It's not like the 1990s and early 2000s when Ford trucks were built like trucks and last forever with abuse.

This is Pre-Pandemic, but I ordered and purchased a new 2018 Ford F150 Lariat with a lot of goodies..... 5.0 Coyote V8..... a tried and true engine. This was my 1st Ford product ever.... I am 61 years old and have bought a lot of new vehicles in my life.... and I gotta say, my F150 is one of the most satisfying, enjoyable, comfortable, and excellent riding vehicle I have ever owned.... I absolutely love it. I have sued GM twice using the Lemon Law..... and, if the Lemon Law existed back in the old days, I would have sued them at least 3 more times. Their vehicles suck..... my F150 has been an absolute gem..... I currently have about 58k miles on it. The 10 speed transmission can be a little funky at times....which seems to be a common complaint, but it has not failed me. The 10 speed transmissions in these F150's was codeveloped and by GM, which uses a version of the same transmission in their Chevy/ GM 1500 products. It would probably be better if GM wasn't involved....lol. If I were you, I would have bought a new RAM..... they seem to be getting pretty decent reviews and they ride better than any other 1/2 ton truck.... I almost bought one, but went with the F150 at the last minute because I live in a cold climate with lots of road salt....and the F150, being aluminum, will fair and resist rust far better than steel. Hate to tell you this.... but the late model Toyota Tacoma's have actually got pretty bad reviews from Consumer Reports and other ratings houses.... which is unusual for Toyota. I have looked them over and wouldn't buy one.... hate their interior styling, and the exterior is nothing to write home about either..... but I guess their reliability is not the best for a Toyota product..... so, kinda surprised you went that route. Ford is coming out with a new Ranger that is very cool.... I think it will be a 2023 or 24 model..... I am a designer, so styling is a big deal for me. Yeah, I hear you as it seems as though Ford's service centers have a really bad reputation lately as far as correcting issues. That's a real shame because they use to take care of the customers but don't seem to care after you've spent your hard-earned money. The blame sits squarely with Ford Corporate, they should escalate unsolved issues and bring in a tech who is capable of troubleshooting properly and resolving the issue. They could also conduct training to the Service technicians while doing so, but that would cost money. If they only realized it will cost them a lot less than getting a bad reputation because once that happens it's really hard to turn that around. Good luck Ford screwing over your customers, you'll wish you hadn't in the long run.

This is very very disturbing to hear about a major auto manufacturer with such a new generation manufacturered truck! While the techs at dealers have some basic skills, they don't have the level of thinking you do as a software engineer. Ford has a complete set of diagnostic procedures and flowchart for the techs to follow because the engineers don't have the confidence the techs at the dealers know what they're doing. And from the sounds of it along with corporate bureaucracy, neither group talk to each other which is a receipe for guranteed disaster. And this results in the owner left hold a ticking time bomb after spending $50k-$90k on a new truck!!! Thanks for sharing your experience!!!

I took it in to the dealer and they had it for almost a month trying to fix it. Got it back finally and it’s been flawless ever since. I’m also sort of skeptical on these vehicles built during the pandemic. I’m dragging Ford for their handling of my case, and the lack of support for their customers. Not because I was unlucky. Every brand will have vehicles that slip through the cracks like mine, but this truck was in the shop 5-6 times within 6 months of ownership. Ford deserves to be dragged for being unable to diagnose and address my issues. If a customer has a brand new vehicle in the shop several times with legitimate codes being thrown, it should be escalated and handled. Honestly I shouldn’t even have to escalate it myself, a BILLION dollar company should have sophisticated enough pipelines to highlight and proactively address problem cases without me even being involved. Ford’s support, diagnostics, and maintenance system is complete trash. It’s unacceptable for a company of this size to have these types of problems.

@@daedalus9042 It's really too bad they didn't figure it out. I work at a ford dealer in Canada and we've sold over a dozen tremors and none of them have had issues and I don't even recall a 21/22 truck that had all the issues you're describing. The tremor is a fantastic truck, smoothest truck on the market after the raptor. The TRD pro or RAM rebel doesn't hold a candle to this truck. Keep in mind if Ford doesn't have a fix for specific issues they involve engineering and it can take months before we hear back. Anyways, I don't think this one bad experience is a reflection on the entire company as a whole and the quality of products they put out. You'll always here the negative stories before you hear the positives, that goes for any brand or product in general.

Ford is even struggling to ship vehicles they built. Ranger I ordered took 15 weeks to build but has been waiting to ship for 9 weeks, already. Dealer said Ford let go of two car carrier companies and now cannot keep up with moving finished products to the dealers the vehicles were ordered from. Apparently, delivery times are being extended for the summer and Dealers can apply to go pick the vehicles up themselves.

It's good to hear a frank experience review. F-150s offer some very utilitarian features, but build and reliability are always paramount. I have had several Fords in my lifetime including a '96 Explorer. I've noticed that when riding in Ford trucks (i.e., at the airport), they tend to rattle a lot. What you said about wiring harnesses not tied down doesn't surprise me. Yes, Ford is top in class with payload and towing capacity, but I may forgo that to get a more quality vehicle. I'm also considering the RAM 1500 Limited and Tundra TRD Pro. The 2024 Tremor so far is not available with the newer Pro Access tailgate, and you cannot get it with the PowerBoost Hybrid yet. So those issues plus what you said about terrible Ford service may be the deal breaker for me.

Steve, You are not unique in your experiences with Ford right now. My friend bought a 2021 Raptor. He eventually renamed it a "Craptor." Left him stranded twice on I-8 between Phoenix and San Diego in a period of 3 months. Towed a total of 6 times in 8 months. He traded it for a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro last year. The Tundra has yet to have an issue that required him to take it back to the dealer. The crazy part of his experiences, and yours frankly, are that these trucks are $65-85k. Ugh.

My 2022 F150 ecoboost has had weird glitches like when my windshield wipers quit as in not a thing worked and it was during a gnarly drive home during the height of hurricane Fiona, luckily it was only 10 miles from my house when they quit. I had been on the road for 4 hrs and was almost home. The dealer robbed a unit off a new F150 in stock which took a week. That cost me $700 to rent a truck while it was down. Now I’m having glitchy warning lights light the wrench and engine lights coming on not off. I’ve had fords every couple years for over 20 years and this is the last ford I’ll own. @@ubeuonly I’m pretty lucky, thanks for the sentiment; the unibody awd escape with a bed has treated me well so far- hauls my trash, pulls my trailer, smooth ride, and comfortable to boot. No none sense, it’s a great ride so far! You’re correct that I have had a recall (1), not 3 to 4. You already know that 65,000 mavericks have been recalled for an airbag technicality resulting from a supplier vendor not following Ford’s Specs. @@amignonettejubilee in my experience as an f-tech, Ford will keep everything on the tightest possible down low so that the whole world doesn't know how many recalls their vehicles actually have. The only ones they can't hide from are the safety recalls that are instituted by the government. There are three or four recalls on all Mavericks thus far and it will be more to come. By the way the escape was one of the most unreliable vehicles in the Ford line over the last two years, and since your vehicle is based on it anything is possible. I'm not saying it's a bad vehicle and it fits in a certain niche, but is not a truck and doesn't do anything any differently than an escape would do. It doesn't have a frame and you can't tow anything substantial with it. It has no competition except that Hyundai thing. So if it works for you bravo.. there are some at our dealership that have been sitting so long waiting for parts or repair that you can't even discern the number on the tag in the window anymore. Regarding RAM, and why quality is better than the old Dodge and Chrysler brand. RAM was allowed to separate themselves from the parent company, so they could control their own quality and reinvest profits in quality. This is why the trucks are not called Dodge RAMs anymore. This separation from the parent company allowing full control of their destiny, happened around 2014. Yet still people call them Dodge trucks, an insult to RAM owners. RAM is a stand alone brand of trucks and vans. Granted still under Stelantis, but with their own RAM CEO controlling their own destiny. My guess is, they had the power to make this change back in 2014 because they were the most profitable division at Chrysler. I believe the same is true of Jeep.

No question about the issues with cars and how the pressures and lack of QC on chip manufacturers is rampant too. I also have a 2020 Cadillac Escalade I use for Real Estate sales. Nice car no issues...yet. Bought it to replace 2016 Yukon Denali that was wrought with issues...tranny etc. Not crazy about GM anymore. Had a new RAM 1500 in 2015 for 1937 miles until an uninsured punk hit me going 80 and totalled it out. We survived obviously, rolled three times. Airbags work. I think the Denali qualified as a lemon and almost started that process but bought this ford in Jan 2020 as a backup for 25k. Great buy but at current 80k miles now and slowing RE market lI started looking at a 1 new truck to replace all. Not sure what is reliable. Maybe sell the Caddy and buy a cheap sedan as a backup. I have an 04 Tacoma TRD in the shop being rebuilt. Hard to get rid of bought it new in '04. Stolen and wrecked but not bad. Ins paid me 12k for it and gave it back. woo hoo! Maybe that's my backup!
