Was anxiously awaiting this episode, and it didn't disappoint. I know you want to turn the page on this farm, but I think others will agree that we are interested in any other stories, circumstances, etc. on the sale of this great farm that you are comfortable sharing. Looking forward to the recollecting the great hunts you had on this farm next video. Lastly, very interested in hearing your real-time progress on finding your new farm. What you are looking for, what you are not looking for, size, layout, neighbors, water, etc. Could learn a lot from you through this process if you are willing to share. Thanks again Bill.

Hi Bill. Very interesting history on your farm. I for one would love to hear you go more in depth on the land and herd management you did there over the years. I don't think many people realize just how much work it is to build a farm like you did. Thanks for the journey on your farm. I've been watching MWW since day 1 and you guys were the start of the semi live hunting format which is huge right now. I was on your farm back in like 2005 with rich baugh from WP. Dr grant woods was there and we all talked about what you were doing on the farm. I did not buy my farm in Iowa until like 2011 and it was great. Now I'm in ohio with lots of promise. The best part to me is the shaping of the plan not just killing a deer. Congrats and I'm sure you will enjoy whatever you do going forward.

Eric, if I am going to make the most out of this 13 acres I could kill a good number of deer here, (there are decent numbers in the neighborhood) but it would be because I planted it to food and then hunted it in late November through the end of the season. Small properties need to be feeding areas because it is hard to make a small property a good enough bedding area to provide sustainable hunting. Good luck. -Bill

Wish someone from Florida Game and Fish would watch this. We have horrible buck to doe ratios on public land in the central part of the state. I've conducted deer counts with several biologist from FWC for over 20 years. They just don't get it. It's sad. They have changed it recently but you use to be able to shoot two bucks a day with 5 inches of antler, no possession limit. If it was brown it was down. They may be coming around but they still don't harvest enough does. Think it's called red tape.

I hope you one day do the prolonged video. I was hoping this was going to be 45-60 minutes long. From how you put it together into management and hunting decisions wrapping it up with the best of the best deer (harvested or not) to roam your land - if you decide to do a long long video and just freely talk, is watch and I’m sure plenty others would too. Piecing together a farm like that is my dream and the management side will never get old to me. Best of luck with the search for your new farm. I truly thought it’d only be sold when you passed on. But I get wanting to stop talking about it (especially when all the farms you look at are so far away from being up to par with THE farm) just so you can move on. Duke will feel cooped up only having 13 acres to roam, hopefully no neighbors go hard on him for exploring like he loves to do. Thanks for the video. My only question: would you recommend on sub350 acre farms trying to get a positive buck to doe ratio or more likely it only worked since you were closer to 750-1000 acres?

Well Bill, I think you should do you like I’ve done this year, I have no leases, I’m hunting only public access Lands. But I’ve gone to a saddle hunting system, and I have to tell you I really really love it. I can adjust wherever I am hunting based on the wind. I can go in anywhere it’s light, I can get down and take everything with me, as quiet as a squirrel. It is really back to actually hunting, no sitting over food plots just scouting and finding trails areas where the deer have to go because the terrain features the water. Every day is a new hunt.

Your montage of the hunts over the years are fantastic, great job! You are absolutely correct about the memories made with the children. I am from Maine, we have great deer and I have been fortunate over the last 50 years to take some nice deer. As you stated, my most memorable moments are when my two daughters at the age of 10 and 12 started harvesting deer, mostly on youth day. We don't have the deer you do but we all share the same passion. I am think after watching all your series on KZitem I need to haul my camper to Iowa for 10 days or so😂. One thing you didn't mention or go into great detail about was the discipling of the hunters you spent time on. Not faith wise, as Im sure they got that without effort. You gave them a place to hunt, an environment to hone their craft in videography and created a lab to experiment growing the perfect hunting property. Those men and women learned a ton from you.
