Interesting video. The reasons you sold your X-S10 are the same reasons why I am keeping mine. I previously had an X-T1 and then an X-T2 but sold both to get an X-S10. You shoot weddings and therefore you need those extra features that the X-T4 offers over the X-S10. I am just an enthusiast photographer and don't need the dual card slots, weather sealing, larger and longer life battery. I have 4 batteries from my X-T2 that I can use in my X-S10 so right there I'm saving hundreds of dollars by not needing to buy extra batteries for an X-T4. I can totally understand your reasons for selling your X-S10. If I did paid gigs I probably would not use an X-S10 either, too risky with only the 1 SD card slot. Having said all that I will probably give my X-S10 to my daughter sometime in the next couple of years as she is getting interested in photography and I will upgrade to a new X-T5 or X-T6 or who knows, maybe an X-S20 or X-S30?

Hey Mike. I loved my xs10, and the biggest thing I loved on it was the ergonomics with the hand grip but also that they did exclude the mic Jack from all other ports, which quite frankly is annoying with the xt3/xt4. But in general the xs10 is quite a powerhouse and delivers a lot for the price. I wouldn’t call myself a pro or anything similar. I’m an enthusiasts too just try To push my capibilities can I can do or shoot always to the limit and try to learn and improve as much as I can. And if I wouldn’t have had the money to get the xt4 I would have made it work with no problems at all with the xs10. I still prefer the xt3 over the xt4 for photography just for the tilt screen over the flip screen

Hi, just want to ask how was the autofocus like shooting a toddler who moves a lot? I have an old camera (samsung Nx30) that missed focus almost always all the time when my toddler moves a lot) I'm leaving towards this camera for its ibis and heard a read a lot of good comments about fujifilms color science. Can you recommend this camera for photographing toddler?

@@jiggah21st If you want a camera that nails focus time after time I would be looking at Sony. A friend of mine has the Sony A6400 and the auto focus is a lot better than my X-S10. The X-S10 is a great little camera and has a lot of positives however in my opinion auto focus is not one of it’s strong points. I would suggest you go to your local camera store and try both cameras and see what you think.

I have the x100t and I was thinking of xt4 or the x-s10 and I think you make some relevant points. :) After researching for days I realised that one of the reasons why I love the Fuji so much is the ergonomics and I think the x-s10 is a step back from more of an 'analogue' control over the image camera to a 'digital' control' over the camera. I think it's very valid to spend on an xt4 over the x-s10 if the camera just inspires you more to take those images. Thank you for such a simple basic breakdown!

Face it...you like buying and selling cameras. It's always about getting the best one now. Th thrill of getting something new. No, I'm not talking about you Florian....I am talking to me about me. I have both also. Both are great cameras. Yeah, the X-S10 has great ergonomics....but....... I too love the X-T4's dials. The dual card slot sure is nice along with the SDXC II usability. I like the heavier build of the X-T4 and the bigger battery. I love the dual battery pack that you cannot get with the X-S10. The X-T4 is just a lot more of the X-S10. The X-S10 is a prosumer camera. The X-T4 is a professional camera. That is the way I see it. You chose wisely.

I agree Everyone likes something new no matter what gear, shoes or whatever it might be. But that wasn’t the reason I buy or sell. I think you just figure out over time what you prefer or like or of course what you need I wouldn’t be surprised if the xs10 gets a battery grip at some point or soon to be honest would he definitley a nice accessory for it. I do like the weight of the xt4. I also agree with your point of view that the xt4 is the more professional or Allrounder camera for many subjects

I've been using the X-S10 for a couple of weeks now and I love it. The grip is amazing. It's perfect for vertical videos such as TikTok content or IG stories. I like that's smaller and cheaper... I travel a lot and sometimes don't feel comfortable pulling out a huge expensive flashy camera. I'm coming over from Canon M50 so having stabilization and slow motion is awesome. But I'm having a hard time getting used to the different buttons and menu system, and i can't figure out the autofocus. I can see myself upgrading one day to XT4 to get some of those extra features.

I’m with you in all of your points and understand where you come from. As said I love shooting with the x-s10 for Street and vlogging. Sometimes I felt the xs10 was even a bit to light. I also came from the M50 to the X-S10 and in most ways it's an upgrade. However auto focus is definitely a downgrade and not by a small amount. I've adapted to where I can live with it but it makes me hesitate to recommend Fuji to others, this is their top of the line AF and it gets clobbered by the cheapest Canon and Sony systems.

@@ReflexVE i agree with that the autofocus still need some tweaking here and there. But I tweaked the setting and so far it works for me. Xs10 just cannot handle video. It heats up fast and battery hardly lasts 10 minutes. It is so worse that even if you provide external power the battery still looses power on video.! I should have got xt3 instead that was selling at same price. Also, I really miss quick button to change focus mode. And for some reason same battery lasts much more on xt3 than in xs10.

Quick question: How did the eyepieces compare? I ended up purchasing the more expensive X-T4 primarily due to "ageing eyes." (Was suggested the X-T4 was far superior, particularly when wearing reading glasses)... The one thing that surprised me was how clear the X-T4 actually is! After setting diopter (dioptre) a few clicks, the view on X-T4 is crystal clear with or without my glasses on, no adjustments necessary.

Hey max. That’s a good question how about you do a pro and contra list see which features are important for you. If you do a log of photography then the xe4 will do the job of you want the flip screen ibis the xs10 is good. Is hard to say which camera will be the right one for you that’s based on your needs and budget as well. I’m sure both cameras will delivery what you looking for in different ways. So I recommend doing a pro and contra list and see what sort of features are important or what’s your long term plan for the camera. Hope that helps a bit

I’ve had both now. If you don’t do video then definitely get the X-E4. It’s better looking, smaller, more fun to use. If you do any video the ibis and flip screen are helpful on the xs-10. I tried doing video on the xe4 and it works if it’s just sitting on a tripod but other than that it’s not nearly as good.

I have been eyeing the X-S10 for quite some time now. However I got a bit concerned after reading some user experiences regarding a couple of issues First, battery drains fast especially with IBIS turned on (less than 50 shots on a fully charged battery!). Second, IBIS doesn't seem to work well with certain OIS lenses and actually results in blurry images when both IBIS and OIS are used I am inclined to believe that this is more due to user error than the camera's shortcomings. Would appreciate your (and other users) take on this. Thank you
@FlorianFrickel

Hi there I didn’t have any issues with blurry images and if, it was my own fault and didn’t hit focus or similar. You still get a very decent battery life with it and around 300-325 shots or even more depends on as an example if you use the lcd display or you switch the lcd display off and use just the eyepiece/lcd or how often you check your image gallery I had twice or so that the ibis wiggled a bit once by a pan movement what isn’t meant to be a natural movement for the ibis and once as i done a static shot. But beside from that I personally didn’t have issues at all. The battery is a bit weak when you film longer term but then you still get around an 1/1.5 of battery life or so A lot of things really comes down to your own use of camera I’d say I mainly used the xs10 with the 18-55mm2.8-4 and couldn’t complain about the combo, the 24mmf2 works well with the body as well. Those two lenses I used most with the xs10 and been quite happy with the results Hope this helps a bit
