The media only publishes bad news about Brazil. Anywhere in the world you have to be careful where you go, and here itsn't different. Brazil has many good things, beautiful landscapes, welcoming people, delicious food, incredible parties, but every foreigner puts things about fear in the title of their videos.

No beach in Brazil is private. Some restaurants and random people will put chairs and umbrellas on the beach to charge people for the use or say that you can only use if you are a customer from the restaurant. Is culturally common but both of this are illegal if it is on the sand and lately these laws are getting more strict. But to anyone going to Brazil: No one can forbide you to stay in any beach, all beaches in Brasil are public and cannot be use as a private business. Also, force someone to pay for something to get something else (Like for example: "you can only use our toilet if you buy food from us") is also illegal (ps. all comercial toilets are public too), is considered "Venda Casada" or "Tied Sale", something that goes against the customer rights in Brazil and the restaurant could get a big fine, they only do it to gringos because you don't know the laws.
