How do you set the saddle / handlebar distance given a selle bike fit references the ‘brp’? Did you buy a special tool? I’d have bought one of these but couldn’t work the website models out at all. I figured you had to know in advance which model was which before even starting. So I bought an Aethos instead.

For the normal-ish person I wouldn't consider any of the GCN guys as an average cyclist/commuter. So for the normal person maybe they wanna ride fast/train on their way to work, what kit will actually make a difference, is weight saving time or is aero? edit: you can say aero is faster, but numbers do not lie. Also I must say I am superlight myself as well (53kg). It is an absolute joy riding uphill with such light bikes. I think Aero for people who just ride for pleasure and no competition (like me) is not useful. Yes it's sexy to have super aero bike and deep section carbon wheels but do you really need it?? I know personally I cannot ride 40kph on the flat so what is the benefit to go for full aero spec? I get why pro use it but I am miles away from that! My Aethos is so comfy and also responsive when climbing, that's all I need to enjoy riding!

Your comments about using shorter cranks (170mm vs 172mm) seem a little silly. That’s a pretty tiny adjustment you could get by moving your cleats or wearing thicker socks! I recently had to replace mine with 145mm cranks after having knee replacement surgery last year, and because I’m a shorter guy and should have been using them anyway. I’m using Appleman cranks that Alex mentioned on the Tech Show last year. You should do a video studying crank lengths. Appleman makes them from 135mm to 170mm. So mine about an inch shorter and make for much more comfortable riding with no noticeable loss in power.

Very nice bike from Orbea as usual... and I wouldn't hesitate in buying one, despite the fact that Ollie's choice of bike may have been 'influenced' by a channel sponsor. However, as a respected cycling media platform, GCN would do well to be totally impartial when it comes to featured products. There are simply too many good manufacturers of bikes, drive trains, accessories etc. to have a limited selection to focus on for the GCN content. Yes, I do know there have been great videos which feature other popular bike brands too, but it's still quite a narrow spectrum of the overall industry, especially considering GCN's reach and their potential to attract viewers with a wide range of cycling interests and budgets.

The choice of shorter crank arms perplexes me given that the bike is optimized toward hill climbing. For a bike optimized for hill climbing, I would expect that longer cranks would have the advantage over shorter cranks in providing greater leverage. For a bike optimized for aerodynamics, I would expect shorter cranks would have the advantage since the hip angles would be increased, which would allow a more aerodynamic rider position though the rider would be marginally higher on the bike.
