Asian pork belly recipe:
Pork belly - 800 g
Garlic - 4-5 cloves
Ginger - a small piece
Sugar - 1 tbsp
Soy sauce - 2-3 tbsp.
Star anise - 1 star
Water - 200 ml
Black pepper - 10 peas
1. Cut the pork belly into large pieces and fry in a dry frying pan to render excess fat.
2. Finely chop the garlic and ginger.
3. Remove the fat that has rendered from the meat.
4. Add sugar and fry the meat with sugar for 2 minutes to caramelize the sugar.
5. Add garlic, ginger, water, black peppercorns and star anise. Simmer for 60-80 minutes until the meat is soft.
6. Meat is best served with boiled rice.
