Yeah, I guess that's what it is. But the JWDB is a pretty solid whisky.

The standard Monkey Shoulder is, to me, definitely a cocktail whiskey, sounds like this is in a similar vein, but could be good in something like a rob roy, for people who might not want too much of a whiskey profile coming through the drink.

Not a fan of cocktails and long drinks but every now and then I do have a mix of American ginger ale, an ice ball, a slice of lime and some sort of whisky/ bourbon. Glenfiddich, Balvinie and Kininvie are the malts and probably the peat comes from Balvinie (?)who have a peated malt.Fun to watch 👍 cheers.

Yes! That's what it is.

Apparently Alisa Bay Sweet Smoke is the whisky here that provides the peat smoke. Probably the only other Lowland distillery other than Annandale to use peated whiskies. Anyways, interesting stuff this. MS has always been a safe blend to drink at bars. Sounds like this is not horrible. A penicillin with this perhaps?

It has a nice medicinal twang in the cocktail. I'm sure a penicillin would taste nice.

Haven't had it (yet) but would be curious if it tops Famous grouse Smokey Black, one of my fav 'affordables'

That would be an interesting comparison!

St. Patrick’s day is the 17th March. It would be great to see a video from an Irish whiskey producer.
