SOME NOTES 1. Apparently, WSP offers free shipping for orders over $25 again!! Hooray!! So keep that in mind, all these would ship FREE in the USA!! 2. It's true that Bath and Body Works has sales ALL THE TIME for their hand soap. WSP also has sales on their kits. Because I don't know when those will be happening, I used the base price for the cost breakdown. Feel free to do your own math if a sale is on. I recognize that most people don't DIY bath and body products for cost efficiency and just enjoy doing a craft, but I like including it just in case. ❤️ 3. The soap bottles are included in the foaming hand soap kit, you don't have to price them separately. 4. There are way bigger bottles of Micellar water available in the USA. I bought the small size to compare to the WSP dupe bottle size.

If you want to make something similar in function to the foaming soap, try using Dr Bronner's castile soap, a 1:4-5 ish ratio of soap base to water, refilled into a foaming pump. It doesn't have preservatives, so if you don't use it fast enough it can go off, but I haven't had that happen. You can get the scented ones they carry or just add your own to the baby (unscented) one. I bought the tiny travel bottle to test it out and refilled a $1 empty pump, ended up liking it, and now that's all I use. It's also soooo cheap per bottle, I used one of their big bottles which was like $15ish and it lasted a year. It's also available in most stores, so you don't have to order online or anything.

Yeah that is really weird for a company to charge a handling fee in this day and age unless there is significant work involved in packaging and materials. Kind of a bad business decision to not just include it all in the “shipping” fee. I regularly buy plants from nurseries that are individually and carefully wrapped up with lots of packaging material and even they don’t charge a handling fee. It may make sense to include that charge to the company but it feels lazy and a little shady to not just divide it up over the other costs to the customer.

I've been thinking, and maybe the reason WSP doesn't send the recipe with the package is to avoid a legal kefuffle? If you offer the recipe free online to people who buy your kit, then you're not selling the dupe, just materials? idk but considering the patents and such that BBBW holds and how zealously they guard their secrets, it makes sense for companies making dupes to have to jump through some hoops to not get sued.
@megallina1

I've bought generic, non dupe, kits from them and the way materials were sent was the same. it's a cost saving strategy, they're just grabbing all of the materials needed from their warehouse rather than making "kits" like you could get from Brambleberry. As a Pharmacist myself, I find a little bit troublesome when influencer/youtubers with a large audience say things like: less "weird things" or "don't know how to said it" (with a bad connotation) when talking about chemical substances. Because as you know, everything is chemical, and having a "difficult/weird" name doesn't mean it's bad or toxic. And for the non-verse viewer can send a wrong message. For example: Dihydrogen monoxide… strange, right? But it's water. Even your products have "difficult" names for the average viewer like: BTMS 50 [Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetyl Alcohol, Butylene Glycol] or Cocamidopropyl Betaine.

I was looking at buying some of their product, and since I can't afford the shipping cost on your gorgeous soaps as I live in the UK, would love to support you via an affiliate link if possible. You make me smile every video and I'm just absolutely mesmerised by your creativity and bubbly character ☺️💕

I really love your videos! I think its so weird they call that kits "self made". Like of course you make something yourself, but not from the ground. I mean for example the soap. You have the base and just have to add the scent. I am a drugist/chemist ib Switzerland and in training we learned how to make medicaments and body products yourself. For example a gel: we didn't have like the base and just added the extra stuff. Like we actually just had all the ingredients (for example a gel is made out of a chemical powder (So sorry, I forgot the name haha) and you mix it with water (I think lol its some years ago) and then you got your gel base) would be cool if you could actually make something like this, I could send you the recipes and how to make them. We actually made such a good handcream once!

I know a lot of people prefer liquid hand soap, but especially right now when we’re all still washing our hands aaaaallll day forever detergents (sulfate based soap as she is saying) are really drying! If you are having a lot of trouble with cracking or just very dry skin, try swapping to a real soap bar (not a detergent bar! A real soap bar)

It kinda looked like your yogurt broke when you put preservative in.. it looked thicker before you added it... that happens sometimes.. especially with lucidal sf.. probably would have helped for you to mix it more with the bender afterwards.. not sure how much you actually did.. also not sure what you used as a thickener afterwards was... the cetyl alcohol is a thickener and the emulsifying was probably had one also...

Except, I can buy 18 soaps at B&BW for $78 taking advantage of the 6 for $26 sale. Even when I order online, the shipping will normally only be $5.99, meaning I'm still spending less than the WSP price. I mean, it's the thought that counts yes; but you're still saving money buying from B&BW.

I have to watch a lot of scents because most florals give me an instant headache so stuff like Lavender is totally out. However.....Bath & Body Works came out with this body spray, shower gel-and line of products with a fragrance called Birch & Argan Oil. I loved it. I didn't get a headache, it was relaxing and I felt like it made me smell good. Just when I had finally found an open Bath & Body Works store-they were out and sadly no longer was selling the Birch & Argan Oil line. KATIE.....I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE and since you are the QUEEN of soaps and all things wonderful in soap and suds and Duping, please please I beg of you my Spirit Animal, please make a dupe. Hey Katie, as a Bath & Body Works associate, I just wanted to point out that it's STILL cheaper to buy the soap instead of make it. Because B&BW is always running a 6 for $26 deal on Soaps. Meaning I can buy 18 soaps for $78. No shipping if I go in store, but if I order online I will only pay 5.99 in shipping(for most states). Meaning I'm still spending less to buy them, than make them!

bath and body works usually do 6 soaps for $26...you do have to pay for shipping unless you spend a certain amount. Also you can usually find coupons..so really Bath and body works is probably cheaper because you have to buy containers for your hand soaps etc. So if you say buy 12 bath and body works soaps...the price would be about $4.33 each. I believe they have free shipping over $50. also the micellar water..is more comparable to the garnier rose water one. its ingredient is Aqua/Water, Propanediol, Rosa Damascena Flower Water. However idk if geranium is equal to that? I'm guessing so. I'd just keep the containers for the micellar one and fill with garniers one lol. I mean if it was saving you a ton of money or there was a certain fragrance for soaps that i absolutely love that say bath and body works discontinued. I would totally buy a kit.

Interesting that the micellar water seems to be more expensive in the US than in Germany. We pay for €3.99 per 13.5 oz (that is ca. $ 4.90) so basically what you pay for the small bottle. It is often enough on sale, that I never pay that either but rather buy it on sale and then I pay €2.99 for the 13.5 oz ($ 3.66). The soap seems really expensive to me either way.
@tikitika999

The biggest thing about the prices from B&BW is that they make so much of the same product literally all the time that whoever manufactures their soaps likely have bases and the raw materials out the ass. Likely as not, they get TANKERS of the raw materials and not just drums or totes. The price for bulk materials drops like crazy so it's very very very likely that the margins on these soaps for B&BW is still stupid considering how much they sell of the stuff globally. So.. based on what I know (hi, I'm a formulation chemist, this is literally my job lol) it's very likely that the bulk price they're paying per pound of a simple soap is probably maybe ~$0.30 if not lower. And considering all the other costs like bottles and labels and labor.. these bottles of soap are probably made for a dollar or less each. And this is just guestimates without knowing the raw material prices off the top of my head. They can afford to put stuff on deals all the time because even if it's not bought at MSRP their margins are going to be insane. Even the foaming soaps are likely cheaper since there is no thickening needed to build the viscosity.. But yeah, we all know we're paying for the fragrance blends they choose. I don't buy their lotions, though, because leaving on that much fragrance oil with unknown components is kind of crappy for a person allergic to citrus.
