As an art therapist, we discourage edible paints. For children with behavioural issues or any child in therapy, it’s not a good idea to confuse the boundaries between food and play. If a child is eating non edible things then deal with that. Don’t give them the option of making it something they *can* eat!!! There is also research that indicates that children who are encouraged to play with their food can actually go on and develop issues with food that they didn’t have before. This is why a strict separation of food and play is encouraged by therapists. Children with food issues can use art to learn about food, draw food, investigate food, cook food but not play with it!

If my son was still little (he is 18 and at university) I would totally start collecting deodorant containers! This is so great if your kids has fine motor skill issues. Paint brushes are hard for little ones, my baby would get so frustrated because he couldn't make the paint brush paint what he imagined. He loved stamping tho. It just gave a more consistent outcome. But the roller deodorant really do seem to work. Crazy art should make these in shapes easy for little hands that we can refill with refillable paint. Like the gallon jugs of tempra paint!

As a kid in California during the 70's, our teachers were always teaching us kids folk songs and talkin' compost. On one field trip, pun intended, to a commune upstate, we picked tons of plants, some food, some flowers and such. Before lunch, we were instructed how to get some of these boiling to make dye which we used to tie dye a swath of hand-loomed cloth. I still have it, beautiful, and yes, it did smell lovely for quite some time. Much later, I was briefly incarcerated (previous minor "failure to appear" issue resolved in court) for a couple of months, during which, with some ridiculing, I made a sheet into a tie dye with Kool-Aid, mustard and black tattoo inks. IT smelled terrible, but even the teasers were drawn to the only "decor" in the place.

kind of concerned with the edible paint because it might influence or make kids/people think paint can be consumed. Agree, they really need to learn early to avoid ingesting or breathing in art materials. I have a couple of vintage palettes that have some genuinely toxic colors, as in don't even point your brush between your lips toxic. The edible paint for kids hack always feels like it's promoted by people who don't understand the underlying reason as to why little children eat paint/crayons, etc in the first place. They taste EVERYTHING as a way of exploring and understanding what it is. Most kids find the paint gross, and quit after one taste, of course some little scientists have to see if they can replicate their results and go back for another taste. So I say get kid safe art supplies, and let the exploring begin, 😁

My oldest just graduated from college as an art major and graphic design, does floral designs and is so crazy talented-I love that I have paintings she did as a baby! And yes, they saved perfectly fine and did not mold or go funky-I just let them dry completely - but it’s a fun, safe and more more clean way (really is easy just bathe them or use baby wipes!) to get young kids/babies painting!

I can say this would probably work for the hair"hack" if your hair is white. I accidentally got green acrylic paint in my hair once and green temper paint in my hair also another time. No idea how it was green both times, but both times my hair took that color since it is white. Getting it redone this weekend because of it actually :|

My toddler has white hair and the same thing happened to her 😩 I’ve tried everything, it won’t wash out!!

On the "edible" paint hack, thy actually used icing rather than food coloring. I don't know if that would be a changing factor, but it wasn't a true comparison.

for the deodorant paint roll thing, its actually pretty much inpired on a tt account that makes graffiti rolls with deodorant bottles only that instead of just usinng the balls that already comes with it, they replace it with a piece of sponge, that works better and they also use a mix of water and acrilic for the ink

Took weeks to thoroughly train KZitem to NOT recommend 5 Minute ANYthing to me. This reminds me why it's worth it to avoid 'em. Yikes.

Honestly I haven't watched you in awhile, and this is the first video that came up again. At first I was gonna scroll by, but looking at the thumbnail I realized those low numbers aren't worth the sacrifice lol. Time to rewatch this.

Super Rae, the Bkue-nosed artist...had a very true blue snout. And if you ever saw it, you would even say, "Get out!".. I'm not a very good poet, as you all can clearly see. But happy, happy new year. I'm out, I'm his-to-reeee!
