I appreciate these videos a great deal since I saw your video with Mr Yang. I'm working on a long-form video documenting my experiences, insights and development as well. I think this contemplative fitness community could really take off. Frank could totally start a discord or something. "what I want is not an outcome"

Hi mate. I'm glad you're enjoying the process of life and awakening. Everything you're saying makes sense to me. You are right, the "stages" are really just reductive abstractions that are useful for the mind. I didn't know what "stream" entry was until recently. For me it didn't happen in a single instance, it was a progressive thing that changed over time. Less resistance, less effort, a baseline of presence that is always there in different degrees of depth and having the choice to pick up the ego if that's the experience that wants to happen. Not needing it, not needing anything. You have a great intellect and an active mind, what a wonderful tool. I find if I just stay in the space and keep watching it, it comes and goes, becomes more quiet over time and gradually readjusts into a helpful little friend that just wants to meet your needs and survive. It's actually very good at that when it is focused. All the best to you.

What you said about getting good at something (or being the best at something) reminds me of some thoughts I had regarding the people who are the best -- namely that they are the best not because they focus on being the best, or because they focus on some sort of external or even internal validation, but because they are so caught up in the doing of the thing that they are the best at. It's the enjoyment of the flow state that arises from a productive act that can lead to those things that we crave in mundane life: validation, money, power, sensual pleasure.

The iterations continue until, until itself doesn't come :) . Stream entry for me was a nonstop whole day seeking with no choice but to the exhaustion of the seeking energy. At the "end" there isn't any drama, freedom is known yet you remain ordinary. Don't fear the world, the body will take care of survival by itself . Peace to ya bro 🙂

you seem to have a very clear and balanced view of what you need in future. The confusion will fall away as you simply take more steps and "do" more. Get started with a career or business, live in the world, take some chances. Don't neglect the physical world, including your livelihood. Its often a mistake to change too many directions when you are young , although its very normal. Commit to something and see it through to the end.

One thing that’s key with stream entry is that all doubt in the teaching drops. Think about it, how can doubt in the teachings drop unless one actually SEES the dharma and knows directly that it is true? By this, I don’t mean having some kind of mystical experience and seeing some trippy visuals, so try to get clear about what is and isn’t a mystical experience so you don’t get caught in them when they happen. When you glimpse the dharma directly you will know it, undeniably, and that will orient you downstream. You’ll get there.
@joeniemchak
Жыл бұрын
Thank you bro :) Attachment to the mystical experiences or spiritual highs is very real. In regards to Stream Entry and faith in the Dharma, I heard someone use a chocolate analogy that I found to be quite nice. He said leading up to SE it's like trying to figure out what chocolate tastes like from other people's description because you've never tasted it, however, once SE is attained, there's no need to ask others what chocolate tastes like because you've now eaten it hahahaha Do you distinguish between A&P and Stream Entry?
@dualnon6643
Жыл бұрын
@@joeniemchak yeah that’s a brilliant analogy. Yep. A&P for me was an energetic release that happened 3-4 months before SE. For me it expressed as almost a kind of mania 😂 where all my inhibitions dropped. Was a super fun time! So I very much relate to your description of your experience.

The main point of stream entry is to understand by seeing that the personality in fact doesn't exist and it's created by the spirit in the first two living years.

@@joeniemchak Arahants feel zero need to say they are one. Just look at Ajahn Dtun. Other monks have said he has completed the path, but nowhere has he said so himself (even though he clearly is an arahant). Yang and Ingram had to make a big song and dance about it. False awakening.
