I actually just bought a Beacn Mix Create and haven't had nearly the problems you have.. but I feel very underwhelmed. I was looking to replace it my GoXLR but it just feels like a worst version of a GoXLR. Additionally, I bought the Beacn not realizing that for multitrack all of the mixes are pre-fader and it's like.. whats the point?
@EposVox

Most mixers with individual inputs going to usb multitrack (of which there are very very few) have the submixes affected by the faders but not the individual device listings. That way you can make your own submix with them, which is kind of the point

I ended up buying the Beacn mix create a few weeks after release cause I just kept seeing really glowing reviews for it, but I can honestly say after using it in my system, the best feature this product has is allowing me to control the volume for my PC. I have some of the same issues you mentioned, where I will hop into a Discord call and my mic doesn't work (which requires going into the Beacn app and deselecting my microphone and reselecting it to get it running again.) MONTHS ago I reported that the Beacn mix create had HUGE issues with detecting multiple microphones that get connected to your PC. I can't plug in a microphone into the Microphone jack on the back of the PC, along with a 3.5mm jack going into the line IN. If I tried to select multiple microphones on the Beacn software, it would effectively just crash and undo all my settings. One time I couldn't even get the thing to boot again, it was broken so bad. I had to go into the folders to delete the user settings before it would boot again. If anything it was a valuable learning experience for me. Don't buy into products immediately, and wait for more reviews to surface before hopping on that early adopter train. This thing sitting on my desk is garbage, and honestly isn't worth it's asking price.

Granted, I use the PreSonus Revelator Dynamic (I got because of a review of yours), but the BEACN Mix Create which I got because of your review has been working flawless and that includes all the updates. I have been using an ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus (WiFi) with the latest BIOS (Updated twice during the time?), even upgraded the Ryzen 7 5800X to a Ryzen 9 5900X (thats its own story) and no problems rose at all. I do have Voicemeeter (which I use for relay purposes on the HyperX Headset Mic with cleanup) which I've been waiting for the VST portion to come on to BEACN so I can potentially leave the Voicemeeter side, but my speaker connections are the HyperX USB Amp and the PreSonus Revelator Dynamic's Playback. I have seen the GPU use if the BEACN software is on display, but if I have that thrown into the background, the GPU use is immediately gone. Not saying this to sway in any way. I have seen some points people have had the issues you described on the discord, but maybe I'm a lucky goose or maybe I just need the Beacn Mic to start experiencing it or maybe if I had an NVIDIA gpu, perhaps using that. I don't know. But everything from the previous review points for the BEACN Mix Create has been on point with me and better over time. I am genuinely curious what is happening for those system setups and if I had the money, I'd gladly start making some of the setups just to get back into QA and see what is happening to cause the issues you and several others have reported.

(Speaking form the Mix Create portion only) The Software was setup to save your settings and then use it from then on. I remember some update was meant to fix the levels being saved, but once in a while, I'll just save it the way it is on the best averages I can get and go from there. Since then, even if somehow a crash was to occur (once in a blue moon), it is saved and restored on startup. I'd imagine that the file would have to be corrupted to lose your settings.

The first thing I said to Beacn when they reached out about their products was that stability was the number 1 thing they had to get right out of the gate. I've been using the Mix Create every day since they sent it to me last year for testing. In that time, their updates have made it more stable and reliable, but I haven't used the mic much at all because I don't like how it sounds compared to my E100S. I also have the odd crash here or there with their software that means I have to restart their app via the task manager. I've also had instances where my audio will just bug out and sound distorted. So yeah, I'm not exactly thrilled with their stability, but I've been lucky that it hasn't had a major impact on my work yet. It's really sad to see anyone, not just you, having major issues like this because the whole point of Beacn having software and hardware working together is that you SHOULDN'T be having these issues. It's a really big failing on their part to still see these issues so long after launch despite them releasing several updates targeting these them. I'm sure someone in the comments or watching this will ask why you didn't reach out to Beacn for help. You've covered why that's not feasible for you already, but really it shouldn't come down to that for anyone. You shouldn't need tech support to properly configure basic features like the VOD track. And those basic features should just work. Audio is very hard to get right. GOXLR, Elgato, Beacn, and DOZENS of other companies have all come up with their own solutions designed to make our lives easier. But they ALWAYS fall apart when it comes to software. The GOXLR line is great until you want the faders on the Mini to match their software position. The Wave stuff is great except there's no useful hardware controller for the software. And now Beacn is still suffering from buggy software. Ultimately I think we just deserve better products and software from all these companies. But Beacn especially needs to make it so videos like this never need to happen since their WHOLE focus is content creation. Yes, Microsoft NEEDS to make key improvements to Windows that directly supports 3rd party solutions easily. Yes, audio hardware makers need to stop putting whimpy headphone amps in their interfaces. And yes, the companies making these products need to stop releasing buggy software that makes your audio chain less reliable. But you can't make "Be Heard" your company motto if you can't get the mic to send audio to the proper channel without in-depth tech support assisting you. I really hope the people Beacn see this as a content creator frustrated by their products because of genuine problems and not "oh no Epos is at it again." If these issues are happening for someone that's been using their products off and on since launch, I can only imagine how much worse the experience is for new customers that aren't familiar with the software at all. Also, I just checked their public discord server which has a known issues list and apparently the Mic not working with the VOD track has been on their list for 3 months now, so the issue probably isn't unique to you or your setup.

Dude, you gotta try the Rodecaster Pro 2. The BETA 1.0.6 firmware has added most the features that streamers wanted. All we need is a desktop routing table instead of just on the device, as well as a couple more virtual channels

@@EposVox - That's the problem. I love RODE products and they're a great Sydney company so I want to support a local brand, but I can't justify the price tag. Even considering that it's slightly cheaper here domestically, it's still just way too expensive for what it would be in my workflow.

I also wanted to get the "Mic" and the "Create Mix" and calculated my "old" "Shure SM7b" + "Wave XLR" + "Stream Deck MK2" against it. For my current setup with the SM7b plus Wave XLR and the Stream Deck MK.2, I paid €532.93 incl. taxes. If I buy the Beacn Mic and the Mix Drop via Amazon, which is the only one that would also have to deliver to my country, I pay €481.22 plus customs duty of around €180 - What for? And then such bad support? These Guys at Beacn are just..... Crazy....

Ther'es plenty of issues that haven't been fixed that hamper using the products. The problem is Beacn has really built a cult of personality around their products so the people that don't have issues assume no one else does and any one complaining is a "Hater." The fact of the matter is a lot of the things can be worked around (the most egregious ones cannot) if you have one on one tech support with their social media guy, but that's not an acceptable solution for a consumer product

Its funny how a AT2020 which on amazon is £87 right now so just over a 100 bucks sounds better and yes I know The AT is a XLR mic but with a decent 50 quid mixer that's cheaper and probably better than the beacn mic.

The only issues I have been having are of the following since update: - Once in a while discord won't pick up without rebooting PC completely. - Some apps won't save the voice mix through the mix create vs the mic by itself. This ONLY started to happen from the last update. But, I've not really did any customization for routing so I can't complain too much.

Yup just bought mine and just got my money back, this thing 200 dollars does not even do what a combined VM & SLOBS can do..This thing is a waste of life. Yes it has SUB MIX but if you have scenes that has all different volumes to them, you cannot set it up that way. You have all the freedom by just using VM and SLOBS sliders. And you basically never have to touch your stream volumes once you get them where you need them. My thing is $200?????? Wow What a joke.

Audio needs to be simple. If your audio setup causes more work for you then it's time for a change. Thanks to your reviews I switched to an Elgato Wave:1 and put my GoXLR back in the box, I haven't looked back and I'm finally at a place where I'm both happy AND confident in my audio setup. I appreciate the suffering you go through so your viewers can have a better experience. 👍

@@AprilSamurai I still think the GoXLR is good and I recommend it for people who have the need for a more complicated setup, I just personally didn't benefit from it and switching to Elgato's Wave:1 allowed me to recover a lot of desk space and remove a bunch of audio complexity I didn't benefit from. Some people still need the GoXLR for consoles and such because it's one of the only affordable options with a Toslink. I didn't have any problems with the GoXLR, I just can't recommend it for the majority of casual streamers and content creators right now.

Given these same issues have been reported by plenty of other users, and some added to the "known issues" lists for months, unlikely. Also gave BEACN plenty of opportunities to suggest as such during the original review cycle. The problem isn't the hardware, it's 100% the drivers and software. Has been since the beginning.
@bonanzabrandon6877

Yeah I'm skipping all this BEACN stuff. I use a combination of a noise gate and NVIDIA broadcast to ensure that my mic doesn't activate inadvertently and when it is activated (when I talk) RTX broadcast filters out background noise and does a great job.

If you use Microsoft Power Toys, and have it update after you setup your beacn, it may be the cause, Powertoys video conference thing is a total mess, causes way to many problems with my elgato wave 3. Every time it updates, it makes me reinstall all audio/driver related software that I have.
personally never had any issues with the mic or the mix create. beacn has had on their own youtube channel for like 4 months that they know the vod and main tracks arent recording the way they are suppose too also as a content creator not checking to make sure something works before recording for 3 hours seems like your own fault not beacns.

Your comments are dead on. BEACN has been the worst pile of garbage that I've ever tried using. Wound up going back to my GoXLR audio setup. I have a lot of friends that also changed out their gear for BEACN and all of them have had nothing but problems with it. Most have also gone back to their old audio setups and disposed of the BEACN gear. And don't get me started with KickedTripod, the only thing he's good for is gaslighting people who talk bad about his products or don't agree with him. He is not the person that should be doing any kind of customer facing work for a company.
