Great clip. Our CEO tells of a LR encounter story happened when she was in L.A. in 1990-1 in her mid-20s and at the time she was a violinist of an amateur string quartet that played mostly background music in private homes/parties and one industry party they did had LR as a guest (other Hollywood ppl were there too). Well at one point during their break LR approached her and basically said “if you aren’t spoken for I would like to get to know you better, “ then he pointed to her violin by her and continues, “and go with me, and i will make you a star with this in this town and the world if you so wish. I’ll set you up nicely.” She declined because, just as LR suspected, she had a bf at the time. But she recalls he was most cordial and very much a gentleman, and funny. Later on in the evening he walked to the host’s piano in the living room and did some light entertainment, she recalls.

I have nothing but respect, admiration and love for this man. Music lover that I am, when I see Prince, Michael..and even Boy George and David Bowie, its not hard to track Richard's influence on pop music and culture. After many yrs of working in the mental health field, my guess is he may have had bipolar disorder. The manic-laughter...the overt narcissism and the total unawareness of self and decorum...those are "flags" if you will for a disorder that is NOT chosen. Its usually something that 'happens" to someone who has endured TREMENDOUS trauma in their lives. And a person can go for MANY, MANY years not knowing that they are manic or suffering from extreme depression. Im just glad that he has moved on to the next life..and doesnt have to suffer anymore in this one.
