Awesome video! And the board...well, let's say that you're making a good job showing off its features :) The Stockfish version plays a little differently than what I've seen in other places, I wonder if it somehow "knew" that it was playing essentialy against itself (well yours was more Stockfish with human assistance to be honest), so he couldn't get away with the usual absurd moves that it plays against humans and decided to go with a good result from its perspective - a draw with black.

These videos are fantastic and have introduced me to something I never even thought I'd find so fascinating. As a neophyte and interested observer, I find myself wondering: given a long enough time line, isn't it reasonable to assume that chess will eventually be "solved"? Is there a prevailing theory as to what that might look like? Even this channel has documented the immense strides made by humans over the history of the game, so I'm inclined to believe that *eventually* strategy could be perfected. Is this an absurd notion? Am I missing something obvious, or even something subtle? Thank you again for making this game seem fascinating and approachable at the same time!
@ASMRChess
Жыл бұрын
Thank you for that great question. Chess is theoretically solveable. Every position with 7 or fewer pieces is solved by so-called “tablebases”. However there are 32 pieces in the start of the game and the complexity increases exponentially for each one you add. Therefore it is impossible to solve chess using the known methods - even if we saw a dramatic increase in computing power.
