I liked her point you brought up that the story in your head is the most perfect version of it, and once it’s on paper it’s flawed. Helps me be at peace with my first few drafts. 🙂

So, question. What you said about having to start with theme stuck out at me, because knowing character arcs/themes is a weakness of mine. I can write a solid plot, and I know that, so my previous works have been very plot-first. My current WIP/draft I decided to focus on growing my character development skills with starting with the character arc in mind, and /why/ everything happening in the plot matters and changes the characters, and what the characters do in response that changes the plot. However; now that I've figured it out (and am really excited about the message), it is... scary? And I am absolutely crawling through this draft, and when I sit down to right, half the time it's just... I can not get words on the page. So, I guess, how specifically does theme-first help you? What about it makes it comforting/gives you inspiration to know what words to write? I am also a visual person, and need to see words on a page in order to play with them. And I'm also a plantser, so if that gives any context, yay? I understand if this doesn't have an answer, but if you can, I would be appreciative. Great video though, and thanks for sharing. ^_^

Those are such good questions!! So I was actually planning on filming a Q&A video next week-would u mind if I answer in that? I feel like I’d be able to explain better than in a comment lol

@@LeahRummel That probably makes more sense, yes, I don't mind. Thanks! And to clarify; yes I know writing process varies, and mine won't look like yours, but as you said at the end, sometimes you can pick up tricks from other people's to make your own better. :)

I think I’ll have to look into the class. I watch a lot of Brandon Sanderson’s lectures which are super helpful. Love the video good work 👍👍

Yeah there is absolutely no rush she has it on sale very often so even if you can’t snag it this time there will definitely be another :)
