Not quite. A smile and a wave from a member of service staff in my country would require setting up a surplus charge of 400-600$ depending on the region. But for them to be happy about it, you'd be looking at +5K$😅

There is something just so incredibly special about the various trains in Japan where you see locals out standing by their homes, schools or business waving to people on the train. Love it! (you don't see that on the BART train in San Francisco or Oakland...)
What a great trip. Sightseeing is amazing in Japan. Thanks for taking us along. God Bless

This looks like it would be a perfect for the very first excursion to take on your first visit to Japan. Great scenery and everybody seems extra enthusiastic. Don't think I've seen anyone lining the streets on any of the other specialty trains waving as you appraoch.
The train looks amazing! The scenery is absolutely breathtaking! Would love to take it one day! 💜

I see you're probably from Manitoba. There used to be a steam train from North Vancouver to Squamish called the Royal Hudson, and the locals used to wave like that. Of course, like most trains in this country, it was cancelled in the 1990's.

I love how this train looks very fancy and casual at the same time:)) I also sometimes ride trains over Japan, but I’ve never had this yet! I’ll take a look it too! Thanks for introducing this! I’ve been also traveling over Japan and make videos about introducing attractive gems! So if you are interested in, feel free to watch mine’s too:)
Does the train brings you back to where you board the train ? Or does it stope / ends at some other city ? Thanks.

This is very interesting. I am trying to figure out how to schedule such a trip starting in Tokyo. And how does one book it? Do any foreign tourists ride it? I didn't see any English on the menu. The desert looked fabulous until you said there was chocolate in it. For me chocolate destroys the taste of citrus.

I love this sort of thing! I'll have to put this on list of experiences to have at some point. Maybe I'll plan an all-Shikoku holiday at some point. It's a beautiful region for winding down and enjoying nature for a change 😍 Btw, Gorou station reminded me of something. Can't quite put my finger on it. Is there some obscure interesting thing nearby that was in a video a while ago maybe? (could be from somebody else...) I can't stand not remembering something 😀

I’ve always wondered. Why in Japan do people and workers at the station wave, fly flags, and the like when you are leaving or arriving on trains and boats? We don’t do this where I am from and genuinely am curious as to the tradition and culture of it.
