Gargraves is a great choice. My 24 x 32 layout with FOUR mainlines is all GG with a few Ross switches. I solder my feeder wires to Gargraves from the bottom. I place the wire in the web of the bottom of the rail and with a good AND hot iron flow solder into the web of the rail and wire. You can not see it from above and nothing will pull on it. Good luck and thanks for sharing.

Another great video, Chris! I'm looking forward to your progress. We used GarGraves track on my dad's layout years ago and it was easy to use and looks great. Even the 36" flex sections weren't too bad to work with. We made a jig out of plywood to do a few custom bends and it worked well. (He FINALLY finished the ballast earlier this year!)

Still working my 19 year old, college student ass off, building my Lionel Postwar layout. Both of my grandfathers had it when they were young, and they've passed it all on to me. It's just a basic loop at the moment, with some switches giving me some sidings inside the loop, but it's mine, and it's coming along nicely.

My brother's layout was using old hollow Lionel track and the noise was pretty bad. So bad that he switched to Fast Track afterwards which helped a lot but didn't eliminate the noise. I'm mostly still just messing around with N scale at the moment. I'd like to get my little layout all wired up and finished. I've just had life getting in the way far too often, plus getting sick last weekend when I was planning on doing some work. The universe is just conspiring against me getting ANYTHING done as far as hobbies. ☹ But it is what it is. There is a train show coming up here in the Plano, Tx area and he and I are planning to go to that. We may hit the first day but that's the day after the Weird Al Yankovic concert lol so I may have to sleep in and hit the show on Sunday. Although I don't want to miss out on any sweet deals on things I don't need but have to have. I'll bet it was a pretty difficult decision to make to partially tear down the layout. But as the upper loops didn't contain near as much scenery it doesn't adversely affect the overall "Feel" of the layout to change it. And I think that's important as it's just an evolution rather than a complete renovation.

@RBP Trains I heard you have a map of your layout, where can I find it? Also, with your fastrack, do you sodder jumpers in between fastrack pieces for a better contact? And lastly for your main circuit of track (the bottom one) for a layout of that size how many transformer to track connections are there? My layout is a 5x9 and I'm not sure if I should have more than one power point or how frequently I should have jumpers. I think you made a good choice with this and sorry for the long comment!

Or maybe some sort of grade going up and down so you/Chris can walk underneath? Maybe your going with a power lift like Shawn’s train depot? Maybe your going to just keep ducking underneath like Nix from Nix crossing? Maybe a scale lift bridge? LOL did I miss an option?
