Can agree... when I stopped playing BDO I was looking for something else and some people told me about ESO. For some reason some people believe weaving with LMB between skills is something special and hard to do idk... PvP is boring and unbalanced, most of the classes function the same.. basically block+(absorb)shield/heal up -> ult -> 1-2 skills, that's ESO pvp tactics for almost every single build. PvE is just another ultra high level of boredom, it's fun seeing all the dungeons for the first time sure but once you saw it, it's boring... there is no challenge whatsoever. The actual challenging content is very small and you won't even find it just like that because the game doesn't tell you.

Any class can be either stamina focused, magicka focused, or health focused (tank/pvp usually) depending on the combination of skills/attributes and gear you use in your build (this obviously mainly applys to endgame but it can help while leveling to know. another thing i noticed you going out of resoruce (mana) if you heavy attack you gain resources back depending on the weapon type (melee weps gain stam, staffs gain magicka anyways hope you keep enjoying the game great video :D EDIT: You can use the greatsword to get the 2h skill line which will unlock abilitys that make using 2handers alot more fun, houses can be obtained from gold or some questlines for a couple houses, the outfit system is based around unlocking motifs in game either from it dropping or buying from other players so u dont hvae to pay to look cool which i personally like alot

ESO gives you so much freedom to play any class the way you want, assuming you have the skill to close the gaps. Dude if you actually dedicate time to ESO, it would be cool to like chill with you one day and just talk about the game. Awesome to see you play this game, it’s an addictive one. Typically for character builds you want to pick either stamina or Magicka and put all of your points into either of those, if you split your points it doesn’t let you take full benefit of skills that use either Magicka or stamina. Staffs of all kinds are good for Magicka builds because their heavy attacks restore Magicka, melee weapons and bows of all kinds restore stamina with heavy attacks. Morphs of each ability apart from ultimates typically have a Magicka and stamina counterpart. Hope you keep playing. Sorry for the info dump but thought it might be useful.

long-time ESO player here: when you are starting out, just try to level up and do the main questlines (to get skill points). As you level up skills, you can choose "Morphs" of the skills (improved versions) which benefit from either a magicka (staff weapon) OR stamina (bow/melee weapon) focus, e.g. a 2Handed Sword. Focus on investing your attribute points (gained at each level) into ONE of those. When you are at max level, THEN try to find good gear sets that work for your play style, and complement your damage type. (Some gear is crafted, other good gear drops from dungeons and trials/raids). Finally, just ignore the crown store stuff (it's all cosmetic and NOT necessary for anything ingame) until you have seen what you can get in-game, unless you have money to burn and like the cool appearance gear there.

Quite nice first impression. Some answers to your concerns: -You can kill humanoid npcs from sneak if you join Dark Brotherhood but that require DLC. There are sometimes freeplay weeks and sub trials that unlock all content except current expansion and what you get from them, either items or skills are yours forever. -"Blessed Shards" is a 'synergy', special effect activated off other people certain skills. This particular one is from your own class, skill "Spear Shards". You can't use own synergies with single exception of one skill Necromancer has and one item set effect. -Any class can tank, heal or dps, any class can use whatever weapon in the game. Avaiable weapons are 2-handers, dual wield 1handers, bow, 1hand+shield, destro staff (such as frost staff you used) and restoration staff. Kill 2 enemies with certain weapon to unlock skill tree for these weapons. At level 15 you get second weapon slot and additional skill bar for that weapon you can switch in combat. -You can buy houses for in-game gold if you do certain achievements in the zone. A basic one inn room is given for free once you get I think 15 level -Loot crates are a joke and contain some cosmetic only items with some consumables that are equivalents or worse items that you can craft. Costumes are nice but you can make own outfits from styles you unlock finding special crafting motifs. -There are enough skill points in the game to fully buy(and morph) almost all skill trees in the game without any problems. You can respec any time at shrines for small gold fee, but cannot change class. -Yes, its nice to be fast. If you want to be even faster, get a mount (free horse on level 10) or use skill or potion that says "Major Expedition". All mounts in the game have the same speed, they only differ in appearance, if you see player riding faster than you, that's because he leveled his mount at Stablemasters.

I just started ESO, and I’m a long time wow player, old school UO player. Your start was very different from mine, probably because I bought the Greymoor package and started in Skyrim. The Greymoor start is MUCH more fun and intuitive. I do like that EVERY single quest I’ve found is voice acted. I’ve never been a huge lore guy, but the voice acting makes me want to actually engage in the story, rather than my normal rush through dialogue menus. I’ve tried the Sorcerer and Templar. I’m really enjoying the Templar because after getting a few skills that fun factor really goes up, particularly your first heal. You can do a magica staff type, but I chose a stamina based 2 handler build. You can also dual wield. In a later level (I think around 15) you can have a second weapon and hot swap them, which I believe can also give you another action bar (don’t quote me on that). I’m pretty sure you can swap in combat also, or atleast it appears that way from some class guides. I’m having fun though, and honestly I haven had fun in wow for the last 3-4 expansions. I tried to go back to Classic wow, but it feels soulless and lacking joy. I’ve done the 1-60 multiple times, done all the raids, did the PvP, and it feels like I’m just trying to recapture old magic that’s no longer there.

Saw you walking right into that trap...how cute reminded me how my eyes in the early days never got used to traps and walked into several of them during sneak mission all the time. Anyway just wear any armour and skills that fits your playstyle and craft them to compensate or strengthened your gameplay. I play a vampire sorcerer with heavy armour who could tank and unkillable...or a vampire necro with greatsword and bow.
@NamelessAzn388

just a few weapon and armor tips: heavy attacks on staves help restore magicka, other weapons restore stamina. typically best way to get best boosts overall is by having 5 of one type of armor, then one and one of the other types (also, doing this early on will level up each armor tree). light gives more boosts to magicka builds, medium gives more boosts to stamina builds, and heavy gives more boosts to tankiness. hopefully those tips will help you have a little more direction! hopefully keep enjoying the game!

I absolutely love ESO and your voice, it’d be amazing watching you grow as a player if you decide to keep this up and I will always leave helpful comments to ease the journey. My first tip is that you can be ANYTHING you want on any class, healer, tank or dd (damage dealer) some just excel at certain tasks. For the race and class you’ve picked you’d make a very good dd (dark elves are basically the jack of all trades race for dps). Looking forward you should be deciding whether or not to use magicka or stamina as your main resource. Lastly depending on which resource you pick, put ALL attribute points into that.

ESO is a great MMO and a decent game in and of itself. The narratives aren't particularly well-written, but they do have a few memorable moments and standout characters like Abnur Tharn, Za'Ji, Sai, etc. The mere fact that you can walk into any interior and just take items lying around makes the world feel so much more dynamic than in other MMOs. Exploration is fun, and the environments, especially the Elsweyr and Morrowind zones, can be beautiful and immersive at times. The leveling experience is easily the best of any MMO out right now, and even after getting 4 characters to max + champion rank 160, I still have fun rolling new characters and roaming around. Leveling doesn't honestly even feel like leveling since there's so much to do and grinding is so inefficient. Even after you hit max rank, there's a lot to do. The endgame is enough to keep you playing for at least a couple of years, there's a lot of PvE content which is well-balanced for various gear levels, it has a similar system to transmog that allows you to dress practically however you want, the crafting system is pretty fun and allows you to get decent gear without farming bosses forever, the player housing is the deepest of any game out right now and easily a selling point in and of itself, the combat is really fun once you learn the mechanics, making crazy off-meta builds is fun and actually kind of viable. Ultimately, ESO is a competent game that I would easily recommend investing a bit of time into. By no means is it flawless. Server performance is sort of rough post-Greymoor, the game does a TERRIBLE job introducing new players and guiding them, class balance isn't great for overland (good luck trying to level/explore with a tank or healer character,) PvP isn't super balanced (this is more of a strength than a weakness imo, but if you don't use the right items and skills you'll just get owned,) tanking is really gear dependent and you will always get blamed if you screw up, dungeon LFG doesn't work if you're a DPS because of DPS oversaturation (this is because overland content as anything other than DPS is horrible,) microtransactions are way overpriced ($50 for a portable bank and up to $75 real life dollars for a virtual house LOOOL,) important gear sets are locked behind DLC dungeons (alternatives exist but you must pay the price to be meta,) many of the armor sets are bland and don't really stand out, the writing is generally poor and characters more like stereotypes/token minorities than individuated people, the base game regions look terrible, etc. Overall it's easily worth purchasing. The MMO market right now kind of sucks IMO and ESO is the freshest and most competent thing still receiving regular updates. With GW2 in its twilight year and Classic WoW falling victim to mass-scale botting, ESO is virtually the only choice among Western MMOs.

Hey man! Playing this game since launch myself. Some tips for you on what you are best to use. Indeed any class can do anything. All that matters is the weapon you choose and from that what armor and skills you should be using. Light armor - magicka attributes - staff, magicka based skills. Medium armor - stamina attributes - mele weapons and bow, stamina based skills. Heavy armor - combination of all health, magicka and stamina, using mainly 1 handed weapon and shield, mix of magicka and stamina based skills. That said basically each armor boosts different stuff. And heavy is primarily for tanks. You can however use also 5 piece of your main armor type and then one of each of the others to get some bonuses from each.

As an ESO veteran of 4 years, ESO truly is one of the greatest games on the market. Once you learn backbar swapping, the game becomes very simple and straightforward combat wise. Its greatest flaw is that ZoS does not have the best coders on performance. But the game is by no means unplayable. The only areas where you might encounter unplayability are the massive PVP open world cyrodill fights where you will notice this. The content is just massive. Seriously, the base game alone will keep you busy for months. The DLCs and everything inbetween are just icing. The designs of the zones will leave you speechless on how much detail they add everywhere. If you want to know specifics on pvp, pve, and combat of magic/stamina, levels, gear just comment and I can answer for you. As many problems as ESO has had, it is without a doubt my favorite MMO, and in my top 5 games of all time
@RobCrusoe20

How is "very simple" positive in any way?
@nelson_rebel3907
4 жыл бұрын
Samadhi because being overly complex isnt a positive when you are in combat. ESO is fast and your reaction times in pvp and pve need to be just as fast. Having a simple bar setup to use as a player is crucial. Being more complex does not make things better. Being too complex more often than not, is what causes problems in this level of a game and how massive it is. Having a complex quest or complex problem sovling to a trial or something is fine. Having a complex button sequence to press buttons in combat is not.

Cassandra Millet Oh yea absolutely. Unless you're doing actual 4 man dungeons or 12 player trials you can do the entire game solo. I have myself. Even dungeon monster helms can be aquired from a different vendor on the weekends for a PVP currency. Player crafted sets are still 100% viable in any content. I still use the same base game crafted sets on several characters

I love to see you trying ESO!! I started like 4 months ago, and have put 400+ hours into it and I'm still not even bored yet personally. I haven't even gotten to the veteran raids yet hardly. As you can see, it definitely has a learning curve. There's some good guide videos on youtube, but my biggest tips would be to try "Light attack weaving" which is where you to a normal attack with a left click and then immediately use one of your abilities to animation cancel it and do more damage. It adds more APM and fun to the combat system to me plus your damage will go way up. The other tip is to keep one ability of each of your class trees on your action bar and then you'll get experience for all of the trees at the same time. Something else you'll probably like to hear is that you can use a second action bar soon and a second weapon at level 15. This is definitely integral to the combat as well, and most end game builds will have your main attacks and spammable actions on the "front" bar and then the "back" action bar has your buffs and damage over time abilities etc. It adds a really fun combat flow for me and can still be pretty dynamic!

So, first of all, cool that your giving this a try! I always thought it was weird that more people didn't get into this game, given that Skyrim was so popular, although their not exactly the same game, but they have a very similar "immersive experience". And yeah, the class you pick doesn't necessarily determine your "role", although certain classes are better at some things, than others. Like, templar is specialized to be a Healer who stunlock and debuff enemies for the tank when their not healing, but you can totally pick up a greatsword and stab crap on the frontlines, as a kind of paladin, or go full ranged DPS as a kind of holy mage. The main thing that let's all this be possible, is there's a set of "general skills" for every weapon set and style in the game, so you just pick up the general skills that fit the playstyle you want. And as you noticed, the Skyshard system allows you to explore and get a butt ton of Skill Points, so you never really run out, I always had like 10 spend to on, but I love exploring in ESO! If you have trouble finding the Skyshard, you can actually mod the game, just like you could with Skyrim (and the other TES games), and there are mods that put the Skyshards/Lorebooks on your map. Also, in regards to your weapon, as mentioned you can do any playstyle you want, but the weapon you choose is directly affected by your armor. So for instance, you "can" use a staff with heavy armor, but you'll deal significantly more magical damage and regenerate your magicka faster when using it while wearing Light Armor. If you want to deal more damage with your greatsword, you want Medium Armor, because that enhances your physical damage. Heavy Armor is for tanking, but even some melee DPS players "hybrid" with it. I haven't played the game in a year though, so I might be a bit off on all this info.

Every zone has a main quest, and the game's main quest will only start once you reach your alliance's first big city (if you're Ebonheart Pact, it should be Davon's Watch in Stonefalls, mainland Morrowind). Also, most houses can be bought with in-game gold instead of crowns, although you'll have to furnish them yourself. In order to change your look you can use dye stations, but you need to unlock costumes and motifs. Costumes are either bought or earned through some quests. Motifs are dropped throughout the game. For example, in Vvardenfell you'll get Ashlanders, Buyant Armiger, Hlaalu, Redoran and Telvanni motifs. And yes, Fashion Scrolls is the true endgame.

Medium more so DPS and heavy for Tanking. 2. Feed your mount to increase speed every 20 hours. 3. Try and level all 3 class skill trees by having one of each skill on your hot bar. 4. Go to Cyrodil/campaign at level 10 to do the beginner quest to get the Rapid Maneuver skill 💯 it increases movement speed by 30% for 30 seconds

Keep in mind passive armor skill greatly helps in your role . -Light armor is for magic user (healer/DPS) . -Medium for stamina focused DPS . -Heavy for tanks . Same for weapon passive/active skills . -1h + shield for tanks . -Bow/dualwield/greatsword/destruction staff for DPS . -Healing staff for Mr.Obvious You can buy houses without crowns they're just given without furnitures and some are sold only on a rotation (you get a free broom closet though) . Major issue you will encounter quickly is bank & inventory space . As Templar you have great set of skill to be a healer/tank (some class are just much better at some roles)

Loved the video - as a fan of ESO anyway it was so funny to see you getting caught again and again :) - join the thieves or assassins guild - makes it cheaper when you get caught.

It would be cool to see you explore more of the game. I've played it for awhile, off and on, and find myself enjoying it whenever I log back in. It's definitely not the best mmo, but the amount of quests, areas and customization is quite impressive. Most of it can be played through alone, which is great for casual solo playing and making your own adventures. Mods are pretty easy to download and use. I use Minion for mine. All in all, great video, Cryy!

I do love ESO, fun to watch someone discover it. Questing is interesting. There's several different types of quest lines. And since 'One Tamriel', you can do pretty much any quest line any time. There are alliance quests, area ones, DLC quests, and the main quest. Generally, they put your character, to start, into the tutorial, then the area, of the latest DLC you own. Since Morrowind comes with the main game now, that's where you started. Morrowind has its own quests, but if you WANT to start the main game quest (and you don't have to, you can do it any time, or not at all, lots of freedom in this game), you would want to travel to the starting area for your faction. Since you're in Ebonheart Pact, that would be Davon's Watch in Stonefalls. Which you can get to by going to a way shrine. You get to go to your starting zone without having to 'discover' those way shrines first. You'll be approached by the quest giver who says something about a 'benefactor' and that starts the main quest. You can, of course, stay in Morrowind and do all those quests first, too. Just I did the same thing, started in Morrowind and had no idea that what I was doing there wasn't actually the main story quest. Really enjoyed the video!

All your traditional MMO group content unlocks at lvl 15. Dungeon finder and Cyrodiil (Open World PVP zone similar to GW2 PVP Zone) . But there are other group related things you can come across in the open World. Such as the public dungeons, World bosses, and Dark Anchors (Public Event).

It's very common for a Templar to run with a staff (probably more common than a sword now) so it's no problem if that's what you're feeling dude. You usually decide to go a stamina or mana commonly referred to as mag and stam as you'd expect, but I say this only to tell you that you don't need to spec into health as a priority like Skyrim, typically builds are all mana or all stamina and nothing into health which has no disadvantages really because your health scales nicely anyway. I'd love to see more of you play ESO and I'm glad you enjoyed it, I'd recommend loosely following a guide if you want to continue playing though, just for your own benefit so at no point you reach somewhere where you don't have the DPS or the tankiness to continue content, either way though at max level you get both an attirbute respec (Mana,Health,Stamina) and a skills respec so you can mess around as much as you like if you want, it just has the potential to end badly as far as progressing into harder content. Couple small things to mention though, the numbers you saw attached to people's names are their champion points, which is effectively levels after capping at 50 and there's an extra tree you unlock that you can spec into for small bonuses (It's D3's Paragon system in a nutshell if you know if it, but it's a bit more complex) Keep up the good work dude.

I feel like the freedom in this game is something you will appreciate, also the sheer amount of Gear sets at end level will allow you to create whatever kinda Dps//Tank//Healer you want..you have battlegrounds(team pvp) Cyrodil (massive open world pvp siege) and imperial city (smaller open world pvp with pve elements) dungeons//Veteran dungeons//hardmode dungeons(4 man) Raids (12man) and trials(usually Solo with wave Mechanics, mini bosses at end of round final big boss at end of Trial)....soooooo much content. Keep diving deeper.
