To be fair with gator, ive had a few "gator jerkies" and its not all gator and doesnt do it justice. If you have actual gator tail, its like chicken with the tang of a catfish. For me, thats a better explanation than alot of people just saying "tastes like chicken."

@straingedays

Agreed. Jerky has many additives at the best of times, he also said some included: "beef, pork, chicken" Usually, the higher an ingredients listed = Higher percentage of that ingredient it contains. Entrails or choice cuts?? Who knows??. This test is less accurate than someone eating skittles & judging flavor.
@jamaarfromafar1096
Жыл бұрын
Just to let you know, the sticks are probably not just the meat they say, because snack stick stuffers are hard to push through meat that isn’t “slippery”, so that’s why most regular ones are part pork and mostly beef. The jerky however is, depending on how it is made, is all one meat. I have seen some that is ground meat put on pans and then smoked, but most is just a strip of muscle.

Hi Tyler, Those are good jerky sticks out there but it's not the same when you use different meat products to produce and it should be for different types of consumption such as trail walks or hiking is were you would have them... Also you should also try Biltong, it's similar to jerky but more softer in texture... Biltong is cut into thin strips and eaten as a side with beer. Similar to the pretzels or nut at the bar... Give biltong a try and see what you think... If you already tried it please send me the link I would love to here your views... I would love to send you some biltong to try some day you could do a comparison between the US made and SA made biltong... Cheers...
@HyphenDude

I agree, biltong is wonderful. There is no comparison between SA and US biltong. SA wins all the way, in my opinion. (I have tried maybe 10 from both the US and SA).
