I’m a product mixer!! I don’t have time for all the layering! I mix 3 gels in a bowl before applying…then one application and done! Definitely worth trying. Then you can control the amount of the one you use for moisture, the one for hold, the one for smoothing because you add various amounts. At least that’s how I approach it.

HI Brittany! I noticed you were using the Denman to detangle. When detangling using a brush tool (paddle/Denman) I consitently get the best detangle from holding the brush vertically, then switching to horizontal to clump/define the curls when styling. Hope that can make it easier for you also!

I’ve tried the Pattern Curl Gel, Styling Cream and Strong Hold Gel. They are ALL very hydrating and my curls were defined with each of them. The question to ask is, “For How Long Did I Have those Curls?”. Curl gel: Soft, defined curls that didn’t last more than 3 days. Styling Cream: Great curls that were soft and seemed to last apx 4 days. The Strong Hold Gel: Definitely provides a Strong Hold! Curls last 7 days!! But initially produced that stiff ‘cast’ feeling on my strands which can be easily remedied with normal daily moisturizing (something I have to do). My curls became soft pliable and very flexible (easily moves in a breeze). I got the best results when I used leave-in followed with Strong Hold Gel. My strands were overwhelmed when I layered leave-in then styling cream/cream moisturizer followed with strong hold gel. Too much moisture!!!!!! Pattern really is a fabulous brand for keeping strands moisturized while giving curl definition that rocks!!

@@staciegreene2262 Sorry for the delay in responding to your question! YES!!! My Pattern curl product experiences are all with Wash-n-go. I have not used Pattern curl products on twist outs. On twist outs I use a leave-in or TGIN Daily Moisturizing Cream followed with TGIN Honey Curls Custard. My hair just doesn’t’t keep that twist out definition. It reverts to a hybrid form of Wash-n-go with super curled ends bec of that twirling thing we do to keep the twist from coming unraveled. Definitely Pateern is my ‘go to’ for Wash-n-go’s. Strong Hold Gel over Pattern Leave-in for hot humid weather. Definition rocks for 7 days WITH volume!!! Good Luck!! 🥰

I have. I’m privy to all the conversation going on about curly cuts and I plan on getting my hair blown out for my next trim/haircut. I did just get a haircut, but it wasn’t a trim. It was mostly a shaping haircut. I thought she would take off more hair for the shape, but didn’t really need to so I was still left with split ends. (Still loved the shape, just needed more taken off) Now that I’ve experimented with getting curly cuts for a year, I’m learning that it’s best to get the hair blown out and trimmed. Once that’s done if shape needs to be addressed, then it can be addressed once it’s properly trimmed. I go back-and-forth with product application lol but thank you for sharing what you do!

1st of all, I ❤ your videos!!! One suggestion if I may, when mixing products together try to put less creme or leave-in and more gel. When a creme or leave-in is very moisturizing it overpowers the gel and the hold it should have and messes with the application process which I think it’s why you didn’t like it at first. I wanted to have a one product wash and go once so I’ve mix in a bowl Carol’s Daughter coco creme which is EXTREMELY moisturizing with some olive oil Echo Styler and went with a ratio of 1:3. My best wash and go ever. The hold, the shine, the definition, the drying time… everything was on point!!! It even lasted a good 4-5 days if I remember correctly.. With Patterns products it might even be better since they use better ingredients than Echo Styler
@BrittanyMia

i think the trick to mousse is using a styling brush to clump your curls. i watched yar sudani’s mousse only wng and they used a tangle teezer to kinda do the shingling for them. she has tighter coils than you so a tangle teezer might not be the brush for you. but i noticed the same thing with mousse and clumping my coils into big chunks. i HATE shingling so that was super annoying. my hair’s super short so a tangle teezer isn’t an option rn but i plan on trying to use a 3 row comb to separate & clump my coils for my mousse wng’s.

I saw Rosies video on curly cuts that you were in, and Narada's lives on curly cuts, and it really solidified some concerns i'd been having. I've been getting fairly routine cuts for a year now (the longest I went was 5 months) and the detangling is never a breeze even after the trims. I agree. I thought I could get away with making a gel cream work, but it’s definitely for silkier textures. I believe the leave-in and the buttercream paired with the custard are more for my type of hair. Even paired with the Mousse. The gel cream isn’t moisturizing enough. Tfs!

I love this gel, but I wish I knew about trying it with the mousse! Also, have you tried detangling with a wet brush yet? It's super gentle but effective when used in the shower. It's my go to gift for my curl-friends!
