But I'm afraid that when I do eventually try oils, that may change. 🤣 For me, acrylics are lower maintenance and that's the big pusher why I prefer them. I used to paint; like you, I went from acrylic to oil. I had the problem of wanting to do too much and be too advanced beyond my skill level too quick. Then, life started to take up my free time, and I fell out of it. I'd spent so much money on paint and supplies from watercolour to gouache to acrylic, pastel (including panpastels, and oils. I'm actually about to get back into it as a method of repairing my mental health after the last few years. I think I'll do something similar: relax while completing assignments, working 2 jobs, and being a single dad.... your 30 days will be more like 4 months for me since I have all of that, lol. Interesting idea, we'll talk about it in 10 years - don't encourage anyone to paint with oil because it's very complicated and reserved for traditional maniacs like Cistercian monks who want to sacrifice their lives for their art - which is why the majority of painters preferred painting with acrylic from the moment it was invented because you can use colors directly at the exit of the tubes and superimpose them - because the colors must also be preserved on the canvas without migrating one in the other or drooling through the canvas - and quality colour tubes are hard to find and very expensive - but you can make your own colours with powdered pigments There is also varnish - because we don't have enough problems - which means that most old paintings become yellow brown, cracked and illegible in 50 years - museums have their cellars full of them and don't know what to do with them, you should take a look - or take advantage of the rare exhibitions where the work of those who remove these varnishes after 100 years - a year's work for a piece of painting It takes 15 years to train an engraver and 10 years for a traditional painter (oil) - but you will have to find a teacher to guide you during these 10 years - you could be his assistant - young people entered a painter's studio at the age of 11 - but finding a teacher when the technique is no longer taught (for lack of a teacher)? But you have plenty of time

What a shame! You will soon write a title saying "I tried to paint like Velazquez in 30 days". You cannot become a very good oil painter in 30 days or 5 years, lil kiddo. Don't be a clown, make art

@@ompakyuFGC well if you watched the whole video you might’ve heard me say at the end ‘ did I become a master in 30 days?… no obviously not😂 because that will take years of practice’ I just wanted to discover how much I was capable of learning in 30 days. So maybe before commenting I’m a clown, you might watch the video…clown

@@caitlinoliviaart “🎶you will never in life meet a hater doing better than you. 🎵” ~Hater by Akira The Don. A Meaningwave song. I do believe you’re somewhat of a master of the arts because you’re quick to learn a knew medium. You’re a color blending master. You’ve accomplished more than this hater in 30 days. ❤
