You have to serve the coffee when the headmaster is not doing anything and is in the same room as the coffee maker, otherwise it won't queue for him. And yes, they only like espresso.

Protip for Headmaster to get points for schmoozing. One of the expansion packs adds an option to greet with a gesture (I don't know which one, but it is in UC). So basically before your Sim actually greet the headmaster, you can make a line of maximum interactions for those gestures. (You can do it easily on paused game). Then, when a Sim greet the headmaster, the pop up for points will appear, but the line of gestures won't desappear. I believe Sims always accept the gestures, so they relationship will go up and you also get a points for that. Also, if you befriend a headmaster during their visit, the schmooze points will go automatically to 60.

@@leslie2149 All you have to do is when he gets out of the car line up 8 of the special greets. Kiss kiss darling, earthy hug, all of those. Don't greet him (they stop being available if you greet him normally) just line them up as many as you can, you will always get schmooze points if you do that. Sometimes it might only be a few other times it will be a lot.

You can cheese the home tour by spending all your money on one very fancy piece of art (if you don't already have one), and move it between rooms in buy mode, as you do the tour. And then just sell it afterwords, if you don't want to keep it.

I rolled for a similar starting family in my prosperity challenge. I had a lone teen knowledge sim, who was very shy. Money wasn't an issue either. The main problem was that she wanted to get an A+, but had no one to teach her to study, so she'd spend twice as long as teens normally would. The other issue was her getting lonely, even as a shy sim. Her personality points were to low to get the welcome wagon, so she remained disconnected from the otherwise social neighbourhood. I got her to greet a random adult townie walking by, and invite him to dinner every so often. That wasn't weird at all...

I had a family made up of one teen, one child and one toddler. The backstory was that their father walked out shortly after the last child was born and mom died just before they moved due to a satelite fell on her (cough). It was a bit of a struggle but they made it.

It would be interesting to see you manage seven teens this way. 8) I can't remember where I heard it, and it's probably a myth; that female sims usually have more luck with positive interactions like smooze and talking to the headmaster.

In my rotational save Darren Dreamer died and left Dirk behind, he lived on his own for about 8 days before moving to college. He had a dog named Mozart which helped a lot with the loneliness and also helped Dirk paying the bills with his pet job. When Dirk was ready to move to college he tried to give Mozart away to his friends (Lilith Pleasant, Beau Broke) but none of them could afford him. In the end, he gave Mozart up for adoption and it was the saddest thing I've seen in a sims game... a police woman showed up, Mozart ran into her car. Dirk ran out on the porch crying, then he ran out into the rain and stood next to the police car bawling his eyes out as the dog was looking at him from inside the car. When Dirk finishes university he is SO adopting that dog back.

I remember when I was young playing the sims 2 and struggled to keep all the needs high as well, as the result I couldn't play a single family for more than a sim week before all adults died and the children were taken by the social worker, but after a few years when I got the ultimate collection, the needs were no longer an issue. So maybe the needs dropping faster were actually a thing but maybe they were fixed with one of the expansion packs or something. I don't really think I sucked this much at the sims 2 when I was younger, especially that soon after I started playing the sims 3 where I didn't have such problems anymore. What do you think?
@Marticore

Yeah, I feel like needs might've been changed in patches, but some people still find the game hard, especially when they play it for the first time being used to Sims 3 and 4.

I did a challenge where I had a teen and her toddler sister. If you have Bon Voyage you can dig for treasure which can get you money quickly. They were very lucky and got three treasure chests somehow. The hardest part was the four toddler days because you either have to hire a nanny or skip school. Toddlers are easy to take care of if you have Pets because they can sleep on pet beds and eat pet food. Get a cat or dog to get a job for extra money as well. Marticore got so close that second time! Two points off.

I am starting to think I am the only person who takes advantage of the special greets that you can do as soon as the headmaster steps out the car. These are free schmooze points for the taking. Don't greet him, special greet him 8 times in a row. Earth hug, high five all of those. You have to do it first or this option disappears. If you use those special greets you are guaranteed of schmooze points. Some headmasters gain a few points others gain a lot. I'm not sure what governs how many points they get but figuring that out could be interesting. I don't know if it goes on how grumpy the headmaster is or on the sims charisma points or what. I got the Newson's into private school with their less then stellar house with special greets, spaghetti and coffee.

I wouldn't even have access to gestures in this gameplay because you can't do them if your Sim never learned them (I sometimes don't even attach a vacation destination to hoods). But yes, I found out from another comment that this is a feature 😂

Gavin and Ginger (two teenagers - sry if I wrote wrong names, they all have them so similar to each other) were going to school, then to work. I managed it that well that they could afford a nanny. If i remember correctly one of siblings was painting - another way to earn money. If somebody is playing ts2 since premiere this isnt a big deal
