I just got a 6000 mah 4 s to try as well I will try the 3300 mah 4 s first half the weight. Good luck to you..

Great first outing! Does the RC8x have steering and/or throttle speed? It seems like speed plus expo would help. Maybe dual rate too. I've recently discovered how helpful it was to turn down my steering speed on my 4PM in 2wd buggy racing. Looking forward to the next episode!

@RCTNT

Front was already low. Rear was bolstered with rubber inside the shock shafts. Suspension is good on both cars, I'm confident. Tires - foams - are the correct answer, yes. I took today seriously and the car rolled a lot better.

I've seen a few videos of speed runs lately and general consensus is to avoid any kind of gyro. You probably already did, but maybe try reducing the dual rate so you have more precision at high speed when turning the wheel. It all looked like a bit of a struggle, but I think there's a lot of potential for improvement, so exciting times ahead. Rooting for you, Craig!

@RCTNT
Жыл бұрын
Yes definitely start with the stock motor and ESC. You can pull impressive speeds with it using stock gear. Just consider buying their upgraded gears so you can get the right ratio to suit the motor. Here's an example I just worked out for you, using some assumptions about gearing, tire size and battery volts, etc.: Pinion gear teeth: 50 (buy their steel one) Spur gear teeth: 52 (the gold one) Transmission ratio: 3 (it's a set ratio in this car) Battery voltage: 12v (3S full charge is 12.6v, so we'll assume some sag under load) Tire diameter: 64mm Motor kV (another constant): 4300kv (I'm pretty sure that's it) Max theoretical speed with these figures: 132mph / 212kph Look on Rlaarlo's site for other pinions and spurs. If you want to go faster, get a bigger pinion and/or a smaller spur gear. With the above setup I suspect the motor will be pushed very hard. I haven't done the maths beyond the basic speed calculation. Be mindful of heat and also see how fast you can go with just the plain stock gearing first. That'll give you a place to start from. I cover this a bit more in the next video - I wish I'd done that myself, first!! It's not overly complex but it certainly isn't easy to get everything 'just so' for a good run. I'm a total newcomer to this stuff so also seek out more experienced people like Raz Shifrin (link in description of this video). Happy tinkering and enjoy the process! Thanks for watching :)

But at the end of the day and abit of testing on various rc's.. it comes down to the gyro sensitivity settings.
@RCTNT
Жыл бұрын
I dunno about that. Gyroscopic sensor might be best placed dead centre. What you're referring to is something an accelerometer would pick up faster in the rear. Do these things have such a sensor built in? I don't think so. But that could be something we see in future. Certainly it isn't hard to code for those two sensors in the same' package'. Folks have been doing it in Arduino circles for 6+ years at this point!
