I'll have to give my epiphone dot a try. I have baritone strings on it so the thickness should theoretically make the strings stiffer lowering the chance of buzz. Although the Bass IV has a longer scale I think a fender scale might help too.

I play my LTD Eclipse in A standard. Using baritone strings. But finding the strings for my 34" scale bass to tune in A sure is a pain.

Yes - put guitar strings on it and tune up to the pitch of a guitar - several bassists already do this - it's called a piccolo bass. Les Claypool, Stanley Clarke, Joey DiMaio to name a few.

CLEARLY no idea how a guitar, or bass for that matter, actually works. This is why people shouldn't be allowed to post sh!t on the internet without vetting... FFS
