Good job. One request: The reveal needs a couple steady shots to give us a good long look of each area, esp. the kitchen. Too jumpy.

Hi Dan, Thank you for sharing the mistakes and what you did next. A lot of renovations will be edited to show a seamless process and I liked how you showed us the reality of the project. Had no idea that magnetic and whiteboard paint existed before watching this. I still have a huge whiteboard from my student days and I’m glad to have held onto it. The place looks great!

It really looks great! Couple of suggestions... to fix the issue behind your countertop, you could install a tile, or even stick on back spash... that might make up your space. Also, if youre not keen on doing a backsplash, you could put a piece of trim along the crack to conceal it. Tip #2... when the drywall/paint started coming off on your roller, you shoukd have used a plastic scraper to remove all the loose plaster, then skim coated the area to get it smooth. The pealibg means there is moisture getting in their, and youre going to have to figure out what is causing it, bcs it will just keep pealing off if you dont take care of it... enjoy your new man cave! 😍

You're tiny house turned out very well. I was thinking, you know how you cut your counter too short? You could have used the cut off piece & applied construction adhesive to it & glued it to the wall & on top of the gap. The cut off could have been a backsplash. It would have totally matched. Nevertheless everything turned out awesome!

I’m glad I came across this video, and enjoyed it. Going forward though, add “made the reveal too short and jumpy” to the mistakes list! There are elements in the space I would have liked to heard described, like the cook top, the dark glassy surface above which you used to do a fancy shot of the cooktop area (a video screen??), and the innovations at the door for shoe storage etc. I think a separate reveal video with description of the finished space may be warranted.

Well done, great job. I'd have gone for the pop-on blinds in the window seals and a blackout blind to reduce the cluttered feel curtains give. And hung the blackout at the ceiling rather than just above the window, less light creep, clutter and it's out of the way when not in use.

Great re-model! Tip for practical bedding. Sew homemade quilts made from cotton fabric, designs can vary. Using thin batting or woven cotton blanket, double stitch for durability. Make two, maybe three, then use them as bottom and top sheets, alternate them and wash regularly. Keep them stacked neatly, which takes a quick minute, and living room area looks perfect. What bed. 😃
