Make sure you get royalties from every kit sold. Hope the commercial kit is cheaper than wjat is on the market since you did all the research and design for them. Looks great

Had what I think is a brain wave what about making some angle joiners at least 30 and 45 degrees, but preferably also 60 and 90 Degrees this would allow the Hab blocks to follow a contour ( say a cliff or crater edge) but more importantly allow for construction of fully connected building eg triangle, rectangle, even Hexagon and so on. Even more flexibility for an already incredible system. Congratulations and thanks again.

Love this and I’m getting a laser cutter because of your videos. One thing is that you mentioned you don’t really need the joiner pieces because the magnets allow you to attach the building directly. One thing I bet you could do is use the joiners to attach 2 sections with same polarity together where they would normally repel!

I think that last bit about not having to magnetize them all is a big seller to me. I'm not a massive fan of magnets for minis, only my vehicles. The idea of magnetizing everything sounds like a bore. Only doing a bit for better customization is a wonderful idea. Can't wait for the commercial release

Yes, my thoughts exactly. Magnetising everything, everywhere drives me crazy. Only mag the bits that you may want to swap. No more. And if you never want to swap them - have parts that’ll just glue.

I mean everyone else has said it but if these become available as a kit I 100% want a set. Your last video actually had me looking at Lazer cutters but I simply don’t have the space! However I wanted to say this looks like a brilliant project and to whom ever you are speaking to about the commercial side I think this is 100% viable and they should be paying you a decent sum for the rights! Also as a relatively recent addition to your audience I love the style of your videos, they are great!

magnets also help if your laser cutter has a bigger focus than the one they were designed with. I have a diode laser not a co2 and its focus size is 0.08*0.10mm most co2 have much smaller dot because they are not combining multiple lasers dots. So none of the ones I have been cutting with this machine are friction fit anyway with the patron files.
@thestateofplay2023
11 ай бұрын
I meant friction fit on the plastic kits I’ve modified on my channel. I have a diode laser too and the MDF is t friction fit on mine either. Holds together, but still needs glue. Although I can pop off parts due to where I placed the tabs. But I agree, magnets work so much better! 😀

@uriance88

@@thestateofplay2023 other than decoration (and you've shown you can do that already with the preprinted tiles), the only thing you would need to do is make another version of the design with the appropriate cut-outs for the clips to hold it together. Battle systems terrain is based on 3mm card so you already have the spacing right . . .
@thestateofplay2023
11 ай бұрын
This is true. I have 6 kits worth of battle systems terrain I use for Zombicide. I’ve tried doing this before but can’t get the card to run through my printer. It’s too thick. You can print on paper and glue back to back, but it’s too thin. Putting card in between two sheets of printed paper works but the time it takes to get it right isn’t worth it, sadly. Mainly because the thickness of whatever you make has to be perfect or the clips either don’t fit or rip the paper you glued to the card. This idea works better commercially printed directly onto the right thickness of card.

Wouldn't the center pieces help unifying polarity for the magnets? All the magnets get unified showing the same polarity outwards from the main pieces and the opposite polarity outwards from the accessories. Use a stick with two magnets as a tool to make sure you put em in right. That way you couldn't mess up, but you couldn't put 2 bodies together . The middle pieces as accessories would fix that and you get the best of both worlds
@thestateofplay2023

I believe that’s what I did. Although probably more by accident than via your excellent explanation. 🤣
@byebyebuy

Just do matching polarity in opposite diagonal corners and every single piece with match every other as when rotated 180 laterally they'll meet the opposite polarity and attract

They’re all prearranged on an A4 sheet. The largest building is the full width of A4 so about 20cm by 20cm. If you go to the earlier video it shows the designs in illustrator. All the ‘pages” are always A4 (210mm by 297mm)
