This video is very much specific for tech house music I think. I like the more natural long loops to blend tracks more naturally.

Love this video!! Thank you! So creative. I’ve been finding ways to use and get these similar things on my REV1 in Serato lite. Have to move more diligent and quicker but it’s worth the work i enjoy being human lol. “Easy” is for chumps & robots!!

I agree- that initial loop technique is whack as heck. Try looping rhythmic material, or areas of the outgoing track where the melodic elements are still present but more sparse, then let the mix ride for a while for a long blend. This has a way of making it feel like a track is always slightly different when you play it. Admittedly, this works better for deep tech styles that I favor, rather than drop-heavy genres.

another technique you had shown in an older video was using the different loop lengths via the performance pads alternating between halving and doubling was an excellent way to spice up a loop-based transition or hitting “in” rhythmically

Use the pitch effect on cfx is better because you stay in grid, then go to cue the loop and go

Can you guys ever teach something about tribe house or EDM music ? They are very very popular at circuit parties , lots of people love it and there are absolutely no videos online teaching any skills about it .

Nice one Loz. You know what my favourite video is? The DDJ 1000 Old school mix from Jamie, it really needs a FLX 10 make over though. 👌

For the pitch thing.. I assume you're using the tempo slider to accommodate for as many controllers as possible? Or is there a reason not to use the FLX10's pitch knob in this case?

That’s probably on purpose. I’d imagine some brands will pay or be paid to be seen as the ‘industry standard’ within the community.

Everything he does can be translated easily to engine os controllers. The functionality is the same. But it would be nice to see Denon featured more often.

Loops are fundamental for mixing, but I don't like in "solo" mode. ( I'm talking about the bar where is playing only the loop of the out song)

For the method at 3:50 do you by chance know anything about making the same exact vinyl brake speed adjustment on XDJ-RX3’s? I believe it must be a mistake in their software in regards to RX3s as I’ve tried them on 2 different decks and different laptops and you cannot adjust the vinyl brake speed via rekordbox, only the release/start speed, the brake speed is grayed out for whatever reason. You can adjust the speed via the decks themselves however only in certain increments which doesn’t help as they’re not really to my liking or need, it is nearly impossible to replicate many methods that incorporate this feature.

Inspiring, but nothing can beat a transition based on good phrasing choices. A little bit to show off as a DJ but used very sparingly I guess.
